Hey all, updating from ((approximately)) 35000 feet in the air. :D I'm on a plane!

I just have to share a story with you. It's a story of tears and happiness and sadness and miracles. (I already wrote it in my actual journal, so even if I don't write it here, ~I~ won't forget it. Nyah nyah. :P)

So, Tatsuya had decided (in very Japanese fashion) that he would see me off at the airport. Even though the airport is two hours away from him. Even though he knew he wouldn't have much time with me there. He wanted to see me one last time so he boarded a train and took two hours just to see me off at the gate. <3

But that's not our story!

Our story is that in the taxi on the way there, my phone died. We were texting back and forth, trying to figure out how close each of us was, and my phone died right when he said he had arrived.

How do you meet someone in an international airport if you can't reach them to tell them where you would be?

I realised how dire the situation was when I got to the international baggage check place thingy. I walked in from the cab, and was greeted by more than a DOZEN ticketing counters, spreading wide in both directions. I quickly pulled out my faithful lappy to check for wi-fi, but alas, Kansai Int'l lacks it. I was stuck. I couldn't call him, either - he never gave me his number.

I hurried over to a help desk. "Excuse me... I'm supposed to meet my boyfriend, but my phone is dead...is there any way I could charge it?" That's when the tears started gushing. The woman I asked helped me out and told me there was a charge station by Stand E (waaaaaaaaaay down that way.) I thanked her and rushed off to charge my phone and tell him where I was.

Except that I didn't. When I got there, I found that there had been a slight misunderstanding. Instead of a charge station (which DO exist in Japan, by the way), I was greeted with phone cards. She thought I meant my phone service had run out and needed recharging.

I paced about, unsure of what to do. He'd never be able to find me, and I'd have to go through customs and luggage handling and not even be able to tell him until I got home. I started sobbing, right in the middle of the airport.

And then... I saw a flash of red in the corner of my vision. I looked up - and there was my lovely Tatsuya, his trademark red messenger bag contrasting with his cream shirt, walking towards me. I ran up to him and buried my face in his shirt. "I thought I'd never see you again..." He hugged me, and we went on our way, getting my luggage checked and in order.

Then we found a chair and just sat, curled around each other, until I had to go.

And he gave me his ring - his big, heavy ring. "It's not a present," he said. "I'm coming back for it. Keep it safe."
