Feeling Like Garfield
Let me clarify -- I'm channeling the cartoon cat, NOT the president! Mondays are always a bit rough but this one is especially brutal! I have PCES. Post Conference Exhaustion Syndrome. I think I use up all my adrenaline and enthusiasm, plus my reserves, at a 3-day conference and I get up the next day and I'm tired an hour later. I'm faced with a ton of laundry (which is strange because the only one home was my husband -- how many times did he change his socks?) and I have ICL lessons to work on, errands to run, college graduation announcements to address (yeah!) and all I really want to do is work on my mg novel but my brain is frazzled. Ah, but a good kind of frazzle! I was able to talk to old friends and meet many new ones. And we had some wonderful speakers -- Lisa Wheeler was fun and informative but I was a bit sad that there weren't more of her books available.
Another distraction today is the weather. It's BEAUTIFUL! I've got windows open all over the house and I keep just stopping to smell the fresh air and listen to the birds. Ah, spring has finally sprung.
I'll keep plugging away and hopefully get my "chores" all done in a day or two so I can get back to the wip. Fingers crossed!
