This place looks vaguely familiar...
I've been relentlessly hounded by my hoards of fans and many loyal readers to update my blog.(okay, 2 people told me they missed my blog -- here's a big shout out to Barb and Nadine!)
March went by in a germy blur of the flu. I barely remember anything about the whole darn month. Then when I finally recovered, I got hit by something even more unexpected and insidious... the spring cleaning bug! Indeed, this is an extremely rare condition for me. I'm cleaning closets and painting bathrooms and looking forward to tackling the storage room aka the "black hole" downstairs. I would not be surprised if I find Jimmy Hoffa or the dinosaur fossils in there. Along with a million LEGOS and action figures body parts.
On the writing side of life, I'm getting closer to finishing my mg novel -- so close it's making me antsy. Which is a good thing, actually! I can't stop thinking about it and I'm chomping at the bit to type THE END on the first draft soon. Because of the missing month of March, I'm off my self-imposed deadline of finishing it by April 15. That's tomorrow. So, I'm shooting for the end of May which still seems doable. And close!
In the meantime I sent a revised pb manuscript to my editor. And this weekend is a fantastic SCBWI conference. They always give me such a boost and the incredible Lisa Wheeler will be there! Hopefully I can pick up some tips, inspiration and just hang with my peeps. Okay, that sounded dumb even to me! I mean, talk to my writing buddies...
I shall try to update my blog on a more regular basis from now on. Can't disappoint my peeps!
