You can turn the pain off whenever you'd like. You don't have to feel anymore; you'll no longer be attached to those emotions which enslave you. It's the only way you'll truly be rid of them.
The words resonated in her head as she ran from the mansion and knelt before the dark sky. The muddied grass stuck to her bare knees and the rain fell down around her. It drenched her tawny hair and washed the blood from her mouth. It ran a diluted red from her chin into her white dress that was stained with carnage.
