This forest was off limits to everyone, there were guards posted at very entrance - the only thing that all of the races could agree on was that. But who was he to listen? He didn’t care much for the law of the realms, he liked to be experimental. So here he was - somewhere in the middle of the ‘forbidden forest’.
He knew something was off when he heard a low humming noise in the middle of a small clearing. His eyebrows rose in surprise and his claws ready for attack as he neared the place where the noise was strongest.
He found something there he didn’t expect to find - a passed out young … female or male? He wasn’t quite sure himself, but no longer mattered when the clouds covering the moon moved and revealed their face to him. The face was the epitome of beauty and it was one he wasn’t soon to forget.
Black bangs covered up a pale face, what he was sure to be beautiful eyes if they were open, plump lips and the smallest hint of a cut across the otherwise unmarred cheek. His eyes raked across the limp body, admiring what the being’s clothes didn’t cover up with all its white flimsiness. He discovered that it was indeed a young man not too much older than himself.
His eyes grew slitted the more he looked at the young man. He knew that he was supposed to kill the creature; it was, after all, an angel - the demon’s most hated enemy. But he did the exact opposite.
His face neared the angel’s neck and he slowly sunk his sharp teeth into the smooth, warm skin. He drew back suddenly, his eyes wide in surprise, his pupils returning to their normal slitted size now. He couldn’t believe he’d just done it - he’d marked a being that he was supposed to have killed.
He wiped the blood from his lips as the young boy began arching in pain. With regret filled eyes he watched the transformation - he’d forgotten that when a demon marks their potential mate they gain some characteristics… unfortunately, it was a painful experience for a non-demon - more so for the young angel.
The young man’s fingernails grew slightly, sharper than before as his wings spread from his back and turned a hideous off white color, marking his disownment from the angels’ realm. His eyes shot open, his body not registering its sleep-like state, and they grew slitted and one turned from its normally clear blue color to a golden yellow much like the very demon who was witnessing the whole thing.
He couldn’t watch anymore and chose this instant to leave not even wanting to explain to the poor angel that he would no longer belong anywhere…
‘How could I?’

Years passed and the young angel was now used to pain. He took beatings every night and sometimes they were right after a brutal session of sex. You see, he was now an unwilling sex slave to a brothel in the middle of the demon realm known for keeping young ‘unwanted’ creatures such as he - a half breed.
Not quite an angel, not quite a demon is how people described him and he hated it.
It’s not like he asked for this… but it was the only place that fed him, clothed him and gave him shelter. Even if the food tasted like shit, the clothes were too skimpy to keep him warm or the shelter smelled of blood and sex. He never figured out what had happened that night he had crash landed in the middle of the borderline of the realms - the Eastern God Forest… a forest no one was allowed to be in.
He didn’t get a chance to even think anymore on the subject as the door opened to reveal his next customer. The worst customer anyone could ever have was standing in the doorway. He was known to be very rough with his ‘sluts’ and was rumored to have killed one or two (and got away with it). The angel visibly flinched.
Before a word was said, the angel was shoved onto the bed and the man loomed over him, vicious thoughts falling from his lips. A whimper and the man was drawing his hand back to slap the poor soul underneath him…
And then everything went black.

There was a commotion going on down the street and Yunho was being pushed and shoved by random demons. He sighed and just followed along with the crowd so not to be trampled on. His thoughts were on random things, not really focusing on anything until he got close enough to see the police at the brothel carrying out what seemed to be a dead body.
His interested was piqued even more when he overheard someone in front of him talking about how the police haven’t caught the suspect yet. Yunho was curious, so he snuck out of the crowd and rounded the back of the brothel. He looked around for any sign of someone having been back there and was about to give up when he saw foot prints and the occasional speckle of blood.
He followed the trail easily once he got away from all the noise and distractions.
Yunho had been wandering through the small forest behind the brothel for what seemed like an hour with no lead. He was about to turn around and leave the wooden area when he heard something that sounded like crying. He followed the noise and soon came upon a young man curled in a ball, his shoulder shivering constantly in a state of panic.
“You… did you kill that man?” Yunho pointed in the general direction of the brothel. He had a casual tone, not really one for crying.
“Mmmphhfrm….” Was the response.
Yunho’s eyes narrowed and he turned around, “Police! He’s over here!”
A sharp gasp of surprise came from behind him and he turned just in time to see a very beautiful man standing in front of him, his clothes in tatters and blood covering his chest and hands. Tears were streaming down the bruised face and Yunho’s supposedly nonexistent heart broke.
“… I… didn’t mean to.”
Yunho didn’t know why, but suddenly he was leaping over tree stumps and dodging low hanging limbs as he held the young creature close to him. He was trying his best to get away from the very police he’d summoned. He knew he couldn’t return to the city for a while, so he retreated further into the forest, protecting the man.
“Jaejoong.” The young creature murmured against Yunho’s shoulder. The warm breath and low voice triggered something in Yunho and he stopped instantly, throwing the young being down on the ground.
“Its… you…” Yunho was shocked. He fell to his knees and crawled to Jaejoong, who was now peering at him with a confused expression.
“I’m… who?” Jaejoong questioned, “You know me?!” He was interested in hearing what Yunho wanted to say. He was sad though, when Yunho just began kissing him and leaving small trails of saliva over his collar bone and nipples.
He knew where this was leading…
‘Just when I’d escaped…’

The next morning brought a more relaxed state of mind to Jaejoong. It was kind of nice to wake up in the morning and not worry about whether your life was going to end today or not. Then again, it would have been better if he had woken up with his clothes on and alone, not with his clothes scattered on the ground around him and a complete stranger’s arm wrapped around his waist.
He glanced over and watched the rise and fall of Yunho’s chest. He’d been very gentle and loving with him last night and it made Jaejoong wonder what he was up to. No one was ever nice to him unless they wanted something - kind of like how the brothel owner had been when he saved him from the police the first time around.
Yunho stirred and Jaejoong kept still so he wasn’t attacked for still being there. As the demon’s yellows eyes fluttered open, Jaejoong caught himself smiling at Yunho.
“Morning.” Yunho sighed, turning over to face Jaejoong. Okay now Jaejoong was confused… This man is a demon, right? So why wasn’t he trying to beat him… kill him? This was really weird and Jaejoong was a shivering bundle of nerves now. His shaking didn’t stop when Yunho reached out and caressed his forearm.
“You know me.” Jaejoong spoke calmly despite his panicked appearance. Yunho raised an eyebrow and nodded somewhat considering he was still lying down.
“I didn’t realize it, but I’ve been looking for you a long time.” Yunho smiled, his heart now pieced together. He’d felt so lonely for a long time and he’d forgotten why, but now he knew… A part of him was with Jaejoong this whole time.
“Eh? So you’ve known me for a while…” Jaejoong frowned, his eyes darting around the small clearing. “Just how do you know me?”
Yunho bit his lip - it was his turn for nervousness. What would Jaejoong think of him? “Well… I met you a while back.”
“And how do I not remember this?” Jaejoong sounded snappy, but he wasn’t - just on guard.
“You were asleep… or rather knocked unconscious.” Yunho explained, now sitting up to face Jaejoong equally. Jaejoong’s eyes narrowed and he swallowed hesitantly, afraid to make any sudden movements in front of the demon whom he still didn’t trust.
“What happened that night - there seems to be something you’re not telling me…” He breathed deeply, awaiting Yunho’s answer.
Just how do you tell someone that it’s your fault they are like they are? How? Yunho didn’t know. He wasn’t sure how it was going to go, but it needed to be said. “I marked you… I didn’t mean to, but I couldn’t help it - something inside me made me.”
Jaejoong gaped at him. So, he had been marked? Well that answered all of his questions. Why he couldn’t feel love for anyone, why he had demon blood in him… Why he was cast out of the angel realm forever. “You did this to me…?”
He hurt like hell and he wasn’t sure why. “You’re the reason why I’ve been beat every night? Why I couldn’t return home to my family? Why I never got to see my precious nieces and nephews?!”
The young hybrid was standing now, trying to decide whether or not he wanted to slap the living shit out of the confused demon or run away and never look back.
A loud slap decided his answer. Blood leaked out of Yunho’s lip and he turned his head back to Jaejoong just in time to hear his ranting once more. “I’m damned because of you! How could you! Do you know how much it hurts to know that your family knows nothing of your whereabouts!?”
Yunho’s eyes closed and he waited for another slap… but it didn’t come.
