so telka said she's waiting to hear what i think about the next guitar hero as well. so far there's very little to know but here's a couple bullet points so far
( Read more... )
Regarding the controllers, have you seen them say they won't? ;)
As for the drums, Harmonix has not mentioned that they have it so my guess is that they don't... but the sensitivity on the drums in GH4 is money. Not to mention that the extra cymbol thingies are not just an option. Harmonix didn't add anything for that... it's another option for hitting the yellow pad. Also, the drum kit for GH4 always keeps everything in it's place. They are not mapping the pads to match the game... where the cymbols are will be where they are in every game. Where the snare is is where it will be for every song.
Plus, if you REALLY want to... it has a plug and you can go out and buy a 3000$ drum kit and plug it in and play. So for all those musicians who have professional drum kits at home, they are welcome to use um.
The fill owns too... much better than RB. Oh, and did I mention you can buy whatever electronic drum pedal you want? And that you can hook up two of them to do double bass? ;)
I thought you might like the creating stuff though. You can put up Drizzle songs online and have other people play them. :D You don't have to wait for anyone to put them up but yourself.
I'm not hating on RB... but I don't think a lot of people have absorbed quite what GH4 can do. I think it's absolutely crazy. I can't argue with you on song selection because that's a personal preference. I just think Neversoft put up the bar and Harmonix has A LOT they need to do to match it. *nodnod*
one night can make a big differencel_10July 17 2008, 20:46:01 UTC
so i spent an hour or so watching the e3 vids at ign last night.
thankfully the art looks better and hey, you can make your own characters so you don't have to deal with whatever ugly version of judy nails they've come up with this time. but the difference between the two games graphically is similar to the difference between call of duty 4 and team fortress 2 for me. yes one may look more amazing but the other is just more appealing to me.
i can see myself losing alot of time playing with the music studio mode. so much so that i might completely never play the overcharted by neversoft game mode. after watching the hot for teacher performance i have no faith in their charting capabilities much less in my ability to play anything tougher than hard.
until i physically see with my own eyes someone playing rock band with those drums i'm not interested. with the aerosmith game being able to use the rock band strat and the announcement that this will too that is encouraging, but the rock band format is something i'm already so embroiled in it will take alot to pull me away from it.
as it stands i've gone from "not interested." to, "i want the song creator." that doesn't say much for the game section of it, but it's deffinately a step in the right direction.
