guitar hero or guitar zero?
so telka said she's waiting to hear what i think about the next guitar hero as well. so far there's very little to know but here's a couple bullet points so far.
new instruemnts look very impressive. red octane has always made some pretty killer controllers so that's not a big surprise, however, if they don't work with both rock band AND guitar hero they can be as pretty as they want. while the drums do look awesome, the 300 dollar Ion set for rock band trumps them, and unless they adopt a neck style similar to the stratocaster i'm not that interested in another guitar controller.
they need to fire the art team from GH3 because those were some fugly characters.
open strum is something needed. it's good to finally see it. song like joker and the thief suffer in rock band for lack of the open note. but only in bass career? c'mon, really?
instrument creator is cool for geeks like me. i don't know how many other people like making guitars like i do in these games but i LUV it.
nothing songwise sets me on fire just yet. unless they grabbed a drizzle song and no one told me good luck topping all the stuff i can play already or in the future in rock band. oh and so far activision has signed three bands to being exclusive.(read that as you wlil probably never see another song from them in rock band) aerosmith, the eagles, and metallica(?) i'm only sad about one of these, but i hope this is not an indication of the future. i don't want to be split between rock band guitar hero for bands i love. i'm looking at you The Pretender by the Foo Fighters. i would kill to have this song in rock band so that i'd never have to look at my guitar hero 3 game again.
oh, and speaking of 3, if you're going to make aerosmith and this new game work with the rock band controllers, just patch 3 and or 2 and get it over with. you tried to lock rock band controllers out and you lost. have some dignity.
at this point this most if not all of this in conjecture. as it stands i don't know much about GH4 but what i do know doesn't make me wat it as badly as i want the next rock band.
