Nick started referring me as one of his best friend in November. I went along but didn't feel it was true for me. Now, I can say it's true, because we're at that point where we can call each other up just to talk (particularly for a straight man, that says a lot about his level of comfort with the relationship). It's no where near my friendship with Rob, but still. He was one of the first people I met out here, and out of our fantastic foursome (me, Nick, Robin, Caleb), we're the only ones planning on being here past the end of the summer. Caleb wants to move back to Seattle in June, and Robin is going back to Philly when the summer session ends. So then there will be two.
At the same time, it's strange to know that we only have until August '07 to be "together friends" (friends who live close enough to physically be together on a regular basis; different from long-distance friends, which is are where most of my friendships are at).
What do you do when you're bored (academically, intellectually) with grad school? Does this mean I should seriously look into a PhD program for right after I get my MFA? I'm already the youngest in the program.
