[ Squints at the camera. ] I was wondering how you somehow managed to look both like a cat and a rabbit. [ beat. ] ...And why you have ears coming out of your ears. And how you manage to talk without your mouth moving. And why you can use human speech and have independent thought at all. That's some sort of telepathy, isn't it? Not to mention those earrings... well, I assumed you were a result of a magus' experiment being used as a familiar, but it seems I was pretty off.

That's not it at all! Simply put, I come from a different planet, and therefore I'm an alien, by human standards. Your assumptions about our telepathic abilities were right, though.

Of course! There is a reason why people think of it as magic, after all-- they're too backwards to understand the mechanics!

[ Scowling a little. ] Are you trying to say that magic doesn't exist and that it's just sufficiently advanced technology? No, hold on, you're saying that your kind basically created magic?

That's correct. Or at least that's the way things are in our own reality; we certainly don't rule out alternative worlds and timelines, though!

Oh? That's good, because I was going to start arguing with you, and any magus in my world would be insulted if they heard that. No, not just insulted, I can't even imagine how they'd react to that.

I don't particularly care if they feel insulted, but it would be foolish to deny alternate realities when we ourselves are in one right now.

That certainly is true. Alternate realities is a concept every magus is aware of. But what I mean was the part where magic is just technology of a different level. Yeah, that would piss a lot of magi off until you got to the alternate realities part.
