Went by the Marine recruiting station up in Valdosta today, very odd to say the least. They have no weekly PT... at all. Not even for their dep'ers, which, considering how many dep'ers I was helping at MCRS Panama City to pass the run... I kind of worry about their numbers a little bit. I talked to the NCOIC, a Staff Sergeant, and he seemed pretty cool. He put me in touch with another Marine, a recruiter heading back into the Fleet who is also running the Jacksonville Marine Corps Half Marathon. I think I may end up running that, but I'll have to check. I think its sometime in October.

Ran another 10k today, noticed some knee pain in the left patella, especially on the extension of the quadricep. Considering that my left side is my weaker side, I can imagine my quads are a little weaker - but I'm just coming back from several days off. I should be stronger now, theoretically. I did go and buy a brace, just in case, and wore that for a few hours.

Anyway, 55m on the 10, 1 walk break at the 3.1m mark to stretch out. Other than the knee pain, no other significant areas of interest. Temperature ended up being about 80 degrees. No difficulty other than a little fatigue in the legs, heartrate never rose above 140.

I think I'm only going to do speedwork one day a week though. I'm not looking to get crazy amounts of speed my first few times through, I'd be happy with a 3:30-4:00 finish, but I'm pacing myself for a 4:00 right now.
