Urgggh! Works been a little bitch last month.. Thank heaven everything settles down for a while..

We've reach March.. and March is always time for Java Jazz Festival *throws confetti*. Usually I got a free ticket to come since my office's client was one of its sponsors. But since the festival got different main sponsor, they left us nothing TT^TT.

I went on the third day only. Why? Here's why...

His royal highness the greatest musician of all time Stevie Wonder is on the 3rd daaaaaaaaaaaay yeaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!

Ok, I probably have to make a chronological order in this.
So a friend and me came around 2.30 PM to the venue. Just enough time to watch Twilight Orchestra's performance (why there's an orchestra in jazz festival? I have no idea). They started around 3 PM, performing some songs including Beatles' A Hard Day Night, Sinatra's My Way and several other songs that I'm not really familiar with. And of course~~~ Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue by Nakahara Kazuha (that's her name right? I only remember the Kazuha part). I've seen this performed before, but it still give me the chills... The show last for about an hour. I think I missed the encore performance tho.. :/

Then, after some meals, we went to KLAproject show (again, why KLAproject was in jazz festival is unknown). This band is amazing!! One of those great great bands whose songs lasts for generations, something that today's bands lack of. I'm not really a big fan, but I always love their songs.. It was veeeeery nice, they played the evergreen old songs like Yogyakarta and Tak Bisa Ke Lain Hati and some of the newer stuff.. Too bad they only performed 6 songs.. :/

And the main eveeeent!!! the program book stated that the show will started at 8.15 PM, so me and my friend already stand in the queuing line at 7.30 PM. By then there was already several layers of people queuing. Turns out that the gate was only opened at 8.45 PM (?). After we entered the concert venue (found a perfect spot behind the cameraperson) we have to wait for another hour or so, before the local artists entered the stage to sing the national anthem (they always did this whenever international artists came).

And then Stevie came out with his keytar!! Damn! The legend himself! whose songs been playing on my music player since I was born, from my dad's music player also, was standing on the stage!! If I know how to express my emotion, I would cry back then.. He started with How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You) which I don't know that it was his song. He played the less popular tunes at first (much to my annoyance, the old men beside me kept yelling OVERJOYED!! OVERJOYED!! on top of his lungs, chill dude, he'll get there!). Songs like Higher Ground, I Wish, Sir Duke, Livin' For The City came out early. Then My Cherie Amour, Overjoyed (seee!!!), I Just Called to Say I Love You (and by this time the annoying old man have left the concert venue), Don't You Worry bout A Thing and Whitney Houston's I'm Every Woman.

Then he sit down in front of his piano, playing You and I (which is my dad's favorite song -- oooh! He'll be jealouuuus~~), continued with.... ... If You Really Love Me... I think, me and my friend are the only two who flailing over this song.. Maaaaan!! I didn't expect to hear this one since it wasn't on his VERY popular song list. He sang it with his daughter on stage. I love this song so muuuuuuch~~~~ I was hoping to hear Knocks Me Off My Feet earlier, but this definitely do! Ah.. the funny thing is AALL the news coverage, even the festival's tweet, stated this song as Sign Sealed Delivered.. FAAAIL!! xDD. and he continue with For Once In My Life.. another song that I looooooooooooooooooooooooove~~ Then he performs You Are The Sunshine of My Life, As and Another Star (which got similar feel with Eito's Animal Magic) went out as an encore performance. As far as I remember he didn't play Lately and Supertistious which I was certain to be performed..

I don't care I have to stand formore than 4 hour for this.. I regret nothiiiiing!!!

And later that night, after I arrived at home (about 1 AM) Eito Ranger Movie's news came out.. and I forgot to flail about this great concert.. :/

stevie wonder is the greatest musician, ramble...., kanjani8
