Art-o-mat: it's a vending machine for tiny pieces of art. So very, very cool. I don't have time right now, but I am seriously considering submitting something in the future, because I would love to be a part of this. I'm also going to have to try to track down some of these machines while we're traveling.

I learned a very cool new thing today.

Since I've been staggering around on woefully inadequate amounts of sleep for three days straight now, and there doesn't seem to be anything urgently demanding my attention at the moment, I am going to go become horizontal for a while.

(Note to self: You are no longer 17. Sleep is not optional.)

I've been emailing back and forth with my tattoo artist this week about the design for my first sleeve, which we'll be doing later this spring. Tanya is an amazing artist, with a degree in fine art and a tattoo style that's as close to what I see in my head as I could possibly hope to find. There are three artists all of you need to know about. I strongly suggest that you buy things from them, because their prices are reasonable and their work is lovely and everyone needs some original artwork on their walls. Not to mention that supporting independent artists is a very good thing to do.

I ordered a packet of origami paper last night, after using a few sheets of copy paper to verify that I could indeed still manage most of the basic folds. Soon there will be a pretty rainbow-coloured flock of origami cranes in our living room. I needed a new hobby, now that my main one has become my job.

I now have photos of all seven of the first round of Intermittent Mysteries. This theme was quartz points, and I did seven pendants, each with a very different quartz crystal, all in a very sculptural style of wirework.
