Today Katie and I were looking at apartments and while we were going from one apartment to the next when I noticed something weird. A falcon was standing over something grey a raven walked by brazenly so I figured it was a statue that had been knocked down from the roof. I commented on it but Katie didn't see it so I turned around in the parking lot of the store front as we got closer I realized it wasn't looking in the same direction as it had been so I was excited. Katie too was impressed by the creature and so didn't mind that I'd stopped and was taking pictures with our camera. (I'll put those up later.) Falcons are amazing creatures, he watched dispassionately as this raven walked back and forth in front of him, if he had gone after it the raven would probably have flown off allowing it's buddies to swoop down and take a swipe at his meal.
I looked and saw that there was another car nearby that had stopped, thinking that I was preventing his advance I moved into the parking lot that the falcon was in careful not to appear threatening so he wouldn't fly off. The other car rather then driving on it's way stopped to look also, unfortunately his fan belt was loose and so it squealed and screeched causing the falcon to take off prey in tow and about 6 ravens took off after him. Too bad I already had the camera put away otherwise I'd have tried to get this awesome picture too. The people in the other car may or may not have tried to follow them Katie and I just continued on our way to wait for the next meeting.
