Well I had some good news today, although it wasn't my own personal news. My ex-flatmate gave birth to her first baby on the 7th August, a little girl, 6lb 13ozs, so very healthy. I was thinking about her a lot and wondering if she was okay because she doesn't have much access to a computer at the moment, so I didn't have any news yet. It's weird because I sent an email to her on the exact day she gave birth saying "not sure when you'll get this, for all I know, you're giving birth right now!" So I am feeling all telepathic and stuff. We had a great friendship when she lived over here for a year last year, she helped me a lot when I was ill and had to go to hospital, and I appreciated her company and support very much. I do miss her, since she went back to Australia last November, but I am so glad she is doing okay, if a bit sore.
On another note, I've starting watching this show called "Takeshi's Castle" that my brother told me was funny. We were sitting watching it today and there were tears streaming down my cheeks from laughing so much. It's basically a challenge where 100 people have to go through a bunch of tasks (where if they fail they either end up in the water or flattened by a bowling ball) to get to storm the castle. I've watched about 10 or so episodes and no one has managed to win yet. Oh I must mention that it's a Japanese show, but we get a British guy commentating (Craig Charles from Red Dwarf). They end up having to go through 4-5 challenges and usually there ends up being only 4-10 left at the end to try and get to the castle. There's rolling logs, pole vaulting across water onto a platform, a rotating mushroom where you have to stay on to get to a platform, swinging ropes, a honeycomb maze with 2 guards trying to find you and stop you and many others. I recommend you'll be laughing, because some people start off and they look so determined, only to lose horribly. Great fun to watch, not so great to take part in. ;)
No other news on the job front yet, never mind.
