It was a good day for me
I told myself I'd play my best game ever today, just because.
I spent the morning going to Makati for the McKinsey evaluation exam. I ran into some familiar faces like Miko Biscocho and Brian Chanyungco. I arrived late, had a hard time, and then finished early. I was tempted to stop by Shell to pick up my salary for my summer internship, but I had other places to go to.
Rushed back to UP to play for the Schoolympics. I only got a few hours of sleep the night before so I came into the game a bit groggy. I felt good when I first came into the game because I immediately started getting rebounds. I had a great pinpoint post pass and two garbage buckets. Best game I've had in the schoolympics so far.
I played better defense after I switched to center. I find it more natural to rotate and stop cutters on the inside than chase them on the perimeter and get blown by. I'm not a blocker, I just get in my opponent's face, challenge the shot, box out and try not to make fouls.
Great game. We ended up winning by 20 points, although the margin felt like less. Just goes to show that we're not only a defensive team, we're also capable of scoring in runs.
