I am beginning to get the feeling that living in this town is never going to be dull.

Just last night someone (presumably kids) set the cliff behind Lidl (just across the road for us) on fire. So naturally me and mum proceeded to stand at the front door, like the nosy neighbours that we are, and watch as the fire engine arrived and the firemen began to put this little fire out. they turned the hose on, only to realise that there was a hole in the hose. At this point they thought that they could continue on, ignoring the hole that was progressively getting them more and more wet. After all it was just a little fire.
After about 5 minutes, one of the firemen decided that enough was enough, signaled to his companions to stop fighting the fire so that he could wrap a bandage around the hose pipe. It was only after this makeshift repair had been carried out that they continued to put the fire out. It really is a good job that on a cliff there isn't a great potential for a fire to grow large!
Needless to say that my faith in the Bo'ness/Grangemouth fire brigade is probably not as strong as it could be. *sigh*

I am still looking for that elusive job. My interview with the local care home seems to have fizzled away to nothing. Two weeks on and I have heard nothing from them, so I think it is relatively safe to say that they didn't want me. But I will not give up, however appealing lazing about reading and playing final fantasy 8-12 is. Have applied for a few positions in various labs, as well as a few non-biology works places, so will just have to wait and see what comes of it.
Away to the job centre in an hour to sign on *sigh* so this will ensure that I  do not give up!

excitement, jobsearching, bo'ness
