*grits her teeth*

Doing my best here not to hurt someone, really I am. But the desire to smack someone is really starting to build up. Guess it's a good thing I'll be going to eat as soon as this post is over.

I like to come up to school early and relax on the computers a little before class. It's the only real opportunity I get to go online and talk to people, after all. And last year it was very pleasant. Come up, do a little chatting, post in the forums, listen to some music, and then go to class or go home depending on the day. No one bothered me, things were quiet.

But for some reason, this year, they're quite different.

Maybe it's because the lab-tech from hell was transferred back to this location.

Apparently one person gets to decide what the rules in here are, instead of the school itself.

And, apparently it's not required for said rules to be posted on the door and walls here in the lab. I mean, I was under the impression that it was required to post them where everyone could see so as to avoid confusion. But the one I keep getting yelled at isn't anywhere in here. It's not on any wall, it's not on the door, it's not on the ceiling, the computers themselves, the tables or the front desk.

This strikes me as odd.

But there seems to be nothing wrong with it as she has had her poor underlings come up and inform me that if I don't stop sitting on my feet they're going to get security to escort me from the lab and forbid me from coming back in.

I'm not sure what makes her feel as though she has the right to tell us how we can sit, but she can.

There's a reason I sit this way. Mostly because it's comfortable. Not being able to see over things for most of my life has left me with the ability to sit in a kneeling position for hours without difficulty. It's the only truly comfortable position that I know. Not to mention, the kneeling improves my posture and prevents pain in my back and forearms from all the typing. These chairs aren't exactly spine friendly and the keyboards certainly weren't designed to prevent carpal tunnel or any of the other problems that frequent use can cause.

But in here, I'm not permitted because of her personal feelings.

I personally don't see what the problem is. My feet are clean, I never put my shoes on the seat, and it's not as though people are licking the chairs. They have more to fear from some of my classmates jeans than they do from the tops of my feet.

This time I've had enough. I'm going to use the library from now on. The computers aren't as nice, the connection isn't as fast, but the librarians are quiet and unobtrusive. They don't distract me from my studying, or game-playing, or chatting. They're not constantly shouting the list of forbidden items at the tops of they're lungs, and they never allow small children to cause problems.

I think a little speed can easily be traded for this constant irritation.

Later!
