Toshiya was a wreck when he sat in his desk, his eyes casted permanently downward. If Kyo had any suspicion that he was gay before, he had them confirmed now. He couldn't help it, he decided. When he saw Mika do that he felt his heart shatter. It was true.. he likes other boys. He had been this way forever. Sometimes it was fun to be different - but not now. Oh dear no. Nobody knew but he was kicked out of his High School in Nagoya for it. He was tricked in a horrible way. His mind flooding with the memories of it all - though he tried to block it out.

"When did you start feeling this way?" His therapist looked up from her notes with a default look of curiosity.

Toshiya folded his hand, shrugging. " I don't remember."

She noted something, "Okay.. well let think about the first time you found a boy attractive."

Toshiya looked up, "I was seven. He was my nieghbor. I saw him in his backyard.. without a shirt. I got an erection."

Her eyes were pasted to his, a look of worry. She noted again. "So, this isn't new."

Toshiya looked to her, his eyes pleading with her. Why did his parents make this worse. Why couldn't they accept him. He knew he could never change. "I will always be gay." He said promptly.

Toshiya's eyes blinked and he came back to reality when the teacher called out his name. He responded, and for the first time let his eyes drift to Kyo. He began, as much as he knew he shouldn't, to note all the attractive features about Kyo. His fluffy black hair, it looked so soft. He had a very nice complexion for a teenager. His lips were very full and he watched them move as he spoke outloud to the teacher, sending a shiver down his spine. His almond eyes were almost feline and they expressed so much with so little. His face - so animated. For being shorter, he was built very well. Toshiya had noted this the first time he saw him, in P.E. That was hard - Toshiya sighed looking back towards the teacher.

"Hara san, repeat after me please - in english," His teacher called out. "I will not do it because it is wrong."

Toshiya froze. He hated irony. He looked to Kyo without thinking, who now seemed to have his eyes glued to his notebook, refusing to look up.

"I.. I will not do it.. because it is wrong." Toshiya stammered.

His teacher paused, and nodded. "iie ne. work on your flow, Hara san."

Lunches became somewhat ackward. Kaoru began to bring Toshiya specail treats from his mother, and Die - who Toshiya found out was rather good on guitar had accompanied him to his house to help him pick up his bass again. He hadn't for years, but he found it wasn't that hard. So, usually at lunch they would talk about that. Kyo? Kyo did nothing. He smiled at Toshiya in the morning, which made his day and then for the rest of the day he was rather silent.

"Did you do your homework?" Toshiya asked quietly as they pushed their desks together.

"Un."

"Was it hard?.." Toshiya blinked at him as they sat, he had to make some sort of conversation. It was selfish of him but he wanted to interact with Kyo no matter what.

Kyo paused, and shrugged. Toshiya put his head on his desk, groaning.

Kyo looked down at him, peering. "Toshiya...?"

Toshiya remained silent. This was stupid, he thought. He felt stupid. Kyo was obviously trying to push away the feelings he felt from Toshiya because he knew it was wrong. Suddenly, Toshiya felt ashamed. Why was he doing this to poor Kyo. Or - perhaps it was in his head. Kyo probably wasn't even attracted to him. That had to be it, he decided.

Kyo poked him, "Toshiya. Earth to Toshiya."

Toshiya sighed, " I'm here." He sat up and looked around, everyone was out trying to enjoy the spring weather. Even Taika san was out in the sun. Toshiya snarled, she had no worries. She had Kyo wrapped around her little finger.

"I have to apologize." Toshiya said looking forward.

Kyo's eyes slowly slid over to him. "Apologize .. for what?"

Toshiya's head hung, "For acting so weird when I saw you and Taika san kissing."

Kyo was silent for a moment, causing Toshiya to blush. Then he covered his eyes, "Please. Don't remind me."

Toshiya looked up. stunned. "But.. I thought you felt for Taika san."

"I do." Kyo said catiously, "But, Taika san seems to think she has one up on me about something. I don't like it. I don't want to be with her. She burned that bridge."

Toshiya didn't know what to say. He felt that small ray of hope within him beam again, but he tried not to let it get to hm. Damnit, but it was. It really was. All he wanted was for Kyo to feel the same. Perhaps it was better that he didn't do this to Kyo. He was a good guy, he deserved much better than Toshiya's problems....

"Toshiya, you're crying."

Toshiya's head snapped up, "No. Not really." He laughed, wiping his eyes. Kyo took his hand, Toshiya froze.

"Lets go to the bathroom. That way you don't have to cry in front of everyone." He smiled softly.

Once in the bathroom, Kyo locked the door. He knew it was wrong - but students could try another one. It was as if a janitor was cleaning it, he decided. Then with a quick glance, he checked the stalls. When he turned back to Toshiya, he was leaning up against the wall crying.

"Toshiya." He said quickly and took his arm. "Whats wrong?"

Toshiya couldn't speak, the tears were coming out so fast. "I'm sorry Kyo, I'm so sorry."

Kyo's feline eyes were wide. "Toshiya, I told you. It's alright. You didn't interupt anything."

Toshiya shook his head. "No. No. For much more than that." He gripped Kyo's hands, they were so strong looking. His fingers so long - almost elegant.

Kyo let him, knowing what it was like to have a breakdown. He leaned foward and hugged him, tight. "Just cry then"

Toshiya did, for a good ten minutes he cried right into Kyo's shirt. He cried about being the way he was, and for feeling for Kyo. Poor Kyo...

Kyo looked forward towards the bathroom wall. If he had his choice, he wanted to take him far away - where whatever was hurting him would stop. He knew that the last year of High School would be tough - but never this tough. He rubbed Toshiya's back and he could feel the hairs on his neck rise. Kyo's eyes looked down to him as he cried. Was Toshiya getting goosebumps?

Toshiya looked up at him, "Stop, Kyo."

Kyo took his hands off of him, somewhat ashamed for his thoughts. "I'm sorry, no seriously.." He looked away, " just trying to make you feel better."

Toshiya looked to Kyo, his face getting dangerously close to Kyo's. His adrenaline running high from his state of tears, he suddenly felt very high. His actions didn't matter. Not when Kyo looked at him that way.

"Make me feel better." Toshiya put his nose up against Kyo's, causing Kyo to get that feeling again. Oh, shit. Kyo thought his hands gripping Toshiya's shoulders.

"Make me better, Kyo." Toshiya said, his voice lusty.

Kyo couldn't have stopped himself if he tried. He leaned foward into the small distance and claimed Toshiya's mouth. His whole body shaking. Toshiya's eyes grew wide at the demand in the kiss, but he submitted and melted into it. A soft moan escaping him.

Kyo pushed him up against the wall, but just as Toshiya gasped at his head hitting the tile he found Kyo's gentle palm there to block it. His fingers interweaved in Toshiya's soft hair, the softest sounds coming from him. Toshiya shivered at this. Kyo pulled away for a second to look at him. They were both panting.

"Oh, Kyo.." Toshiya stammered. Not knowing what to say. "I..I feel better now."

Kyo sighed, biting his lip. If that made Toshiya feel better, Kyo could make him feel amazing. Right here, in the bathroom. He grinned, on the sink, up against this wall, on the floor...

Suddenly there was a loud banging on the door. "Open up, no locking the doors!!"

It was the janitor. Kyo froze, pulling away from Toshiya. He banged again. "Open up the doors now!"

Toshiay ran a hand through his hand and Kyo grabbed his hand, "Go to the urinal."

The janitor banged on the door again, and then it clicked unlocked. He threw open the door. Two young boys were using the urinal.

"Did you two lock this door?!" He said in a grumpy tone. Kyo turned and glanced at him. "Us. No.. didn't even know it was locked."

The Janitor eyed them, and then turned and stormed out. Kyo sighed in relief and zipped up his pants. Toshiya did the same.

"We should go back to class now," He said catiously.

Toshiya agreed, knowing they had to. School went by slowly, too slow for either of them. Kyo was floating on high all day. He had done it, he had kissed Toshiya - and very willingly. In his mind it would have taken him months, but Toshiya really sent him over the edge. He paused, packing up his books, Toshiya really did send him somewhere he had never felt before. Not even with Mika...

"Kyo?" It was his teacher, they were on a first name basis for the past year or so.

"Hai," Kyo said alert, and he paused to focus on his words.

"I have this letter here, It's from Todai Kyo. It's very serious."

Kyo paused, "Is there a problem?"

His teacher chuckeled a bit, moving a strand of hair from her eyes. "No, goodness no. You are qualified to take the entrance exam, congratulations."

Kyo froze, Todai? The most prestigious school in his whole country wanted him? He didn't know what to say. He never thought he would make it into Todai. He knew why too, because the truth was they didn't offer courses in anything he liked. He loved music and writing - poetry.

"Kyo? Did you have a course of study you wanted to persue? I know you adore music, but now is a time to find a strong and stable career. This opputunity is rare and gives you just that...."

"Atmospherical sciences, is my only passion at that University," Kyo said shrugging.

"Ahh, Astronomy? Very impressive." She nodded and paused before handing him the letter, "Well here it is, I was just faxed a offical copy so don't worry.. I have more. Congratulations again, Kyo."

Kyo zipped up his bag, halfway wanting to crumple it up - but he knew he shouldn't. He knew this was much more than just a letter. People worked their entire school lives to get into Todai. Flocks of dreary eyed students flocked the irony gates of Todai in april, rain or shine to see "the list". If you were on it, your life was set. You were gold. If you weren't... then you went back home and drank - and then the next day you studied. You would try again the following year. Kyo knew the immense pressure that stood with getting in the school.
They didn't want losers.
They didn't want half asses.
They didn't want homosexuals.

Kyo looked to Toshiya who was already smiling at him, he walked over. "Is that from Todai?" Toshiya beamed. "Wow, Kyo..."

Kyo blushed, "It's nothing. I could never pass that exam."

Toshiya scowled, "Why not? You're so intelligent when you try!"

Kyo laughed at how correct he was, and to be honest it made him feel better - at least a little. "No, seriously.." He lowered his voice to a whisper, "I'm not interested in this life plan. I'm much too selfish and rebelious. I have learned that the hard way."

They waved to Kaoru and Die before walking down the hall together.

"So.. what do you want for your life, Kyo?" Toshiya said holding the door.

Kyo sneered into the spring sun. "Ano.. I don't know. I think I'm meant to do something else.."

Toshiya and him continued walking towards Kyo's house, Toshiya didn't really feel like leaving him at the moment. He felt a secure feeling at his side, "Well.. so you can't find that at the best University then?"

Kyo laughed, "Toshiya, I'm trying to tell you that I think I should be something less offical. I don't want that much responsability. I'm far too lazy."

"You're only lazy when you don't try. I've seen your test scores, Kyo. Brilliant."

Kyo cut him off, "Yes, Toshiya. I know that.. but I don't want to put this certain brilliance you speak of to something that I don't care about. I have only one life and if I'm not free to do with it as I please, I'd rather be dead."

Toshiya was thrown off by the bluntness of his words, though Kyo's eyes told him that these words were the real Kyo. This was Kyo shedding his skin of modesty and revealing to Toshiya who he was.. and Toshiya was suddenly overcome with a warm feeling..

Kyo looked forward, "You may laugh, but I'm entranced with music."

Toshiya paused as they were in front of his house, "Die said you were all in a band."

"We are.. we take it seriously." He paused, " You should come listen sometime."

Toshiya tilted his head, "You want to be a singer. You want to create a message."

Kyo looked at him, "I have a message, thats right.." He was suddenly very creeped out by how Toshiya seemed to be reading him like a book. He was reading him like a passage, explaining Kyo to himself. He looked away, wanting to go inside. Wanting to be alone and to think...

"Kyo.."

Kyo looked to him, "Toshiya.."

"I understand to get into Todai.. if you want to will be hard." Toshiya paused and looked around, briefly taking his hand, "I'm here for you."

Kyo gripped him, "Toshiya we must be careful. If we are found out.."

Toshiya stopped him, "I know, I know," He dropped his hand, "We just have to be careful."

silence.

"I really want to kiss you, Toshiya." Kyo said staring at him. "I really wish right now that the world would stop caring."

Toshiya felt himself blush.. "I do too.."

"Come to my practice tonight.. I want you to meet the rest of my band - for now at least." Kyo chuckeled, "We might be loosing our bassist, but life goes on.."

Toshiya's lips parted, "Really? Wow.. I'd.. I'd love to." He gave a nervous laugh.

"Cool.." Kyo turned away but looked back at him, a very small and sexy grin, "See you here around five. the garage."

Toshiya blushed, "Hai, hai." He turned away, feeling small wings sprout from his back, the only thing keeping his mind off the negativity that he could already be sabotaging Kyo's future... just by loving him.

sorry it took soo long. fucking finals. ._. but they are OVER. woot!
