What Toshiya loved about Christmas was the feeling of quietness and warmth that created the peaceful atmosphere of the season. He loved to snuggle close to Kyo in the couch under a fluffy blanket, sipping hot chocolate and just enjoying the feeling of the closeness they shared. The room was usually only lit by candle light that made the shadows dance on the walls, and Toshiya often found himself captivated by it. He could have watched them for hours and hours, getting lost on his thoughts along the way.
And Kyo never complained but kept stroking his hair as they sat there in a comfortable silence.
Both of them loved those moments they spent together like that. With the often hectic schedule Dir en grey had there wasn’t always that much time to spend just sitting and enjoying each others’ company, and both Toshiya and Kyo treasured those quiet nights almost over everything.
It was one of those cold December nights that found them in a position like that. It wasn’t just any day though, it was Christmas Eve, and the pair had just returned from the little Christmas party Kaoru had organized for Dir en grey. The party had been fun, they had been exchanging a little presents and since Die had brought mistletoe with him all of them had been kissed by each other - some had only received a little peck on the cheek but Kyo and Toshiya had shared a long and rather passionate kiss, much to the others’ amusement.
Of course, Die himself had taken an advantage of the situation and kissed Shinya in a way that reminded the others quite a lot of Kyo and Toshiya’s kiss, but Shinya hadn’t seem to mind all that much. It had really been a nice evening for all of them.
When they had returned home it had started snowing and they had shared another kiss under the gentle fall of snow. Kyo could still feel melted snowflakes in Toshiya’s dark hair when he ran his hand through the silky locks.
Toshiya smiled contently as he felt the other stroking his hair. The mug full of hot chocolate he held in his hands warmed his slightly benumbed fingers and the warmth that radiated from Kyo’s body felt so nice… He blinked a couple of times in order not to fall asleep and leaned his head to Kyo’s shoulder.
“Kyo,” he said softly, a small yawn escaping his mouth.
“Are you tired?” Kyo asked.
“Yeah, a bit,” Toshiya admitted. “But I don’t want to go to sleep just yet. I still need to give you my present.”
“And I have to give you mine as well. Though, we could save them for the morning and go straight to bed.”
“Kyo… Are you implying something here?” Amused, Toshiya turned to face the other, putting the now empty mug on the table.
“Just because I used the word ‘bed’ instead of ‘sleep’?” Kyo smiled innocently. “My my, Toshiya, I’d rather think it’s you who has something in mind.”
“Why yes, I want us to have wild sex right this minute,” Toshiya grinned then shook his head, the grin still playing on his lips. “But whatever, the presents can wait until morning. I’m more than a little sleepy anyhow.” He yawned again. “Should we go to bed or stay right here? I don’t mind either way.”
“Let’s stay here,” Kyo decided after a while. “It’s so cosy and warm in here and I don’t feel like moving at all.”
“Whatever you say,” Toshiya mumbled.
“I say that you feel nice.” Kyo adjusted the blanked around them and snuggled closer to Toshiya.
“Mh, you too,” Toshiya answered sleepily and wrapped his arms around the other’s waist. “Now let’s go to sleep. Good night.”
Kyo repeated his words and they shared one more kiss, soon fast asleep in each others’ arms.
