the 3 day we spent in Rome
one whole day just for the Vatican and another for stroling in Rome itself
started the day with breakfast buffet again
it was not as good as at the first hotel through
after we finished breakfast the bus took us into Rome, more precisely to the Vatican
because it is not allowed to speak loudly inside the building we got headphones
so we could walk freely inside the building but could still hear our guide
the line for the entrance was very long and they had security like at the airport with metal detectors and everything
there was even a dresscode: clothing must be long enough to cover the knees and the shoulders otherwise the security wouldn't let you enter
I even saw the Swiss guard
following will be photos I took from inside the building
the symbols in the middle show how larg other cathedrals and churches are in comparison with the Vatican
it is really long...
my brother, dad and me went up to the church top too
615 stairs up and down °XD but then you had a great view from above
and the pictures on the wall were not painted but mosaic, the stones were the size of my fingertips... and I have very small hands
from the tower top:
the last thing to do was sending a postcard from the Vatican to my uncle in Vietnam and one to our home in Germany
did you know the Vatican has it's own postcode? and the stamps you buy in the Vatican only work if you put them in postboxes of the Vatican too...
I hope the postcardes did arrive in Vietnam...
our hotel for the night was the Sheraton
BEST HOTEL IN THE WHOLE TRIP!!!!
the entrance hall alone was stunning
they had a loung with leather sofas and a tv
and a bar, which was closed
but the best part was the dining room, no wait... more like a dining hall
they even had a piano
they got multiple converence rooms with different names
We could only take a look in one of the rooms through
oh and our bathroom was awsome *___*
marble everywhere *___*
I sat outside at the poolbar, talking to some friends and there were pomgranattrees *___*
I love pomgranats *___* but I never saw a whole tree
after that I went to bed
next entry will be in Rome itself so stay tune
