Author's Notes: And the plot thickens. XD
Uruha picks up his bag, after putting his shoes on, and calls out, “Zero~ I’m ready to go and I can’t be late.” He messes with his hair some and slips his sunglasses over his eyes. He glances back, noticing Zero rushing to the door, and opens it for him. He steps out with his bag and heads to the car. He gets in the passenger seat, waits for the other to join him, and smiles at him when he enters.
Zero starts up the car, glances at the other man, and drives off. He turns the radio’s volume down some and asks, “Do I need to pick you up again?”
“I think I’m gonna take a cab this time.”
The older man nods a bit and continues driving to the strip club. He feels a hand touch his and he glances at the owner, smiling softly. He holds his hand, entwining their fingers and focuses on the road.
Within twenty minutes, the car slows down and stops by the back door of the club. Zero unlocks the door for Uruha and waits for him to exit the vehicle.
“Come with me,” Uruha says, stepping out the car with his bag. He walks over to the door, hears the engine turn off, and watches Zero get out, then leads him inside to his dressing room.
He opens the door, puts his bag aside, and hangs up his coat, then checks himself out in the mirror. He examines his face closely, sighs to himself, and says, “I’m gonna go to the bathroom for a few minutes.”
Zero nods, looks around the dressing room as the blonde disappears, and skims over the items on the vanity. He tilts back one of the bottles and raises a brow at the label. Suddenly, he hears someone hitting against a door, startling him a bit. He puts the bottle back in place, walks over to the door, and opens it a little to see who it is, but no one’s on the other side. He shrugs it off and heads back to the vanity, then hears the same noise against a door.
He glances at the door again, approaches it, and opens it, not seeing anyone even near it or even in the hallway. He looks back and forth and sighs to himself, then hears the same noise. He closes the door and looks around the room to see if the noise is from the inside the room.
“Uruha, are you okay in there?” he asks, raising a brow at the sound.
“I’m fine~ I’ll be out in a minute.”
Zero listens to the sound closely and attempts to find the location of the source. He stops at Uruha’s closet door, takes a deep breath, and quickly opens it, eyes suddenly widening at the sight of a woman tied up and gagged on the floor.
He quickly covers his mouth to keep the sound in and stares at the crying woman. Her left eye is blackened and her bottom lip was swollen with a little bleeding on the corner of her mouth. He hears Uruha’s voice and quickly shuts the closet door, then moves away.
“Hey, honey?” the blonde says, coming out the bathroom.
“Y-yeah?”
“Don’t worry about dinner for me tonight either,” he says, pulling his hair back in a ponytail. He smiles a bit, kisses Zero softly, and walks over to his vanity, taking a seat. “Love you~”
“Good luck out there,” he replies, walking out the room. He closes the door behind him, pauses for a moment, and thinks about what he saw in the other’s room. Shaking it off, he heads to the car.
He starts up the car, drives off, and calls up one of his band mates. He waits for an answer, making a turn at the end of the block, and responds to the voice, “Hey, Karyu. Are you busy? I found something interesting.”
~*~
“Are you sure you weren’t seeing things?” Karyu asks, quirking a brow.
“Yeah, I know what I saw,” Zero assures, shifting his fingers on the cup.
“Did you do anything?”
“No…” he says softly, looking down. “I didn’t know what to do.”
“Call the police, of course!”
“It’s not that simple, Karyu. I don’t know what happened to her or why she was in Uruha’s closet. For all I know, someone could framing him and he might not know that she’s there.”
“Knowing him, he could’ve put her in there.”
“But why? Uruha doesn’t seem like the type to abuse a woman and hide it.”
“I think he is,” the guitarist murmurs, looking off.
“I don’t know…” he says, sipping at his tea, “Maybe I should ask-“
“No! That’ll be stupid. If you ask him, he’ll just lie or distract you from getting the answer.”
“Then how am I supposed to find out the answer?”
“Hmm…Hizumi. He should know.”
“Maybe…but he might not even tell me Uruha’s secret.”
“How about I call him up and ask?” the guitarist offers.
“That sounds like a good idea. Call him now.”
Karyu nods, reaches for his phone, and dials the vocalist’s number. He sits back on the couch and says, “Hizumi? Hey, are you doing anything right now?”
“Not yet. Was about to take a shower though. What’s up?” the vocalist answers.
“I wanted to ask you a question.”
“Oh, what is it?”
“Something happened between Uruha and I was wandering if he has some sort of history.”
“History? Like a criminal record or something?”
“Yeah…” he says, then waits for Hizumi to respond. He stands up, goes over to his desk, and opens up the internet.
Zero raises a brow at his band mate’s sudden movement and watches the other sit in front of his laptop, typing something. He gets up, stands behind Karyu, and stars at the screen.
“How did you know about this?’ the guitarist asks curiously.
“Uruha told me out front when things were slowly approaching seriousness.”
“Oh…” he says, scrolling through the page and skimming over the list of crimes the blonde committed.
“Is there anything else you want to know?”
“For now, I’m good. I’ll let you go take your shower. Thanks,” he replies, hanging up. He glances back at Zero and back at the screen. “Is this enough to convince you to break up with him?”
The bassist stays silent, staring at the page in disbelief, and puts his hands on the back of Karyu’s chair. “I…I don’t think I’m convinced.”
“Are you serious!? The man has a record of being an abuser and a murderer. He’s practically a wanted man! That would convince me~”
Zero walks away, gets his shoes, and slips his jacket on, opening the door.
“I hope you’re going to break up with him.”
“Not yet…I need to think about this,” he responds, leaving his band mate’s apartment.
