I'm so used to my earless cats that I have a hard time petting cats with ears.
It left Japan on May 17. How it can take over a month to travel from Japan to the US is beyond me. I mean, even if they put the package on a boat, couldn't it cross the Pacific in a few weeks?
oh really? what kind of mail did you have it sent then?
IDK if its the same for international but for domestic its not really that it takes longer (cuz really a point A to point B is gonna be about the same amount of time) its just the package loses priority boarding status.
Meaning it hitches a ride if there is room but otherwise it will sit in a warehouse forever. Smaller/lighter stuff tends to get through before bigger/heavier things.
AT LEAST FROM MY EXPERIENCE, and this is also generally domestic as i'm not 100% sure how international works.
It did take like a month+ for one vidya game to come from hong kong to me before though. So uh, yea there's that too.
I asked for "the cheapest way" assuming it would be SAL. (I didn't specifically request SAL because I heard that EMS is cheaper once in a while.) It turns out that they sent it Surface Mail. Apparently that's cheapest for large packages. And the shipping was still over $25.
I'll be mad if that package gets lost since it had around $200 worth of grails in it. :K
hmm. I don't think I've heard of that form of shipping before. :\ I hope it arrives soon... I know before I've heard of international mail taking 2~ months to arrive depending on how fail the method is. Still though. D:
I hope it's not lost. fffffff. though lol tbh i wouldn't have trusted something like that with any other method than EMS, due to tracking and all that. ._. EMS sometimes isn't that much more, it just depends really.
I do have a tracking number but I've yet to find any way I can track the package once it leaves Japan.
Well, I paid $20 for EMS shipping on a CD and a magazine. I didn't want to risk the EMS cost with a 2-3 lb box. (And I'd never had a problem with SAL before.) And at the time I was a bit strapped for cash. I barely had enough to pay for both closing prices.
You actually track it with the domestic carrier, whomever it may be. (in this case, I'm assuming USPS?)
really? cuz i remember having a huge fucking box shipping and it cost me like...mebbe 40 dollars? i guess that is a lot but considering 2-3 day INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING + TRACKING i found it to be a sweet deal.
I hadn't thought to track it on USPS. Here's what I'm getting:
-Origin Post is Preparing Shipment -Foreign International Dispatch, May 12, 2010, 11:08 am, KOBE, JAPAN -Foreign Arrival at Outward Office, May 12, 2010, 9:22 am, KOBE, JAPAN -Foreign Acceptance, May 10, 2010, 3:10 pm, JAPAN
I assumed "Foreign International Dispatch" meant it had left Japan, but maybe it's still stuck there. o_o;
ALSO I HOPE YOUR EEVEE COMES SOON AAAAAHSAkjhhsjka. it must suck waiting for it this long and not knowing where it is. ;-;

I really wish I'd paid for SAL or EMS now. ;__;
