Any advice on treating carpal tunnel syndrome?

I've started to become addicted to Fire Emblem 6. I use it as my reward for doing productive things. It's amazing how much I've accomplished since I started using FE6 as an incentive. In the past I've tried motivating myself through internal pep talks ("you should do ____ because think of the long term benefits"), logic ("I know it's overwhelming, ( Read more... )

spamming my f-list, how old am i again?, i never shut up, complaining, advice needed, fire emblem

I don't have many real tips, other than try to pay attention to how you're sleeping at night.

I don't have CTS, but I have nerve damage in my other arm that causes my hand to go numb a lot, and it flairs up if I accidentally sleep on that arm or lift heavy things. :\

Other than that, since youre playing on a computer emulator (I'm assuming?) have you considered investing in a game controller for the computer? Most emulators let you program custom keys and are joypad compatible. If holding a controller helps, I'd look into that, personally.

Yeah, I was not aware that how I slept would affect this. When I do sleep on my arm, it always hurts when I wake up.

That's an idea. I hadn't thought of that. I believe it is joystick compatible. I'm not sure what kind of controllers are out there.... but since it's a GBA game, I'm guessing an SNES controller would work.

Any controller would work as long as you can plug it into your computer! In fact, I believe you could probably make your PS3 controller work on your computer if you plug it in with the USB cord.

Even if its a GBA game you'd just end up programming less buttons.

Yeah, I was just thinking of a controller that would have similar buttons to a GBA, since that's what I'm used to.

Connecting the PS3 controller is a great idea! I just hope I can find the USB cord...

You should still have one? How do you charge the controller without it? :b

I still have it. I just don't know where I put it. I have this bad habit of losing cords, then finding them a few weeks later.

As for charging the controller, I haven't been able to use my PS3 at all for months. I switched TVs after I came home from college, and the current TV isn't compatible with it or something. :(

Well that's butts... Hopefully you can find it.

As for the TV being compatible, it definitely is, but if your PS3 was set on HD (or SD) and then switched back, it won't display a picture because it thinks its still plugged into the old one. You can reset this by pressing and holding the power button for a few seconds until you hear the console beep a few times.

It will turn up somewhere, eventually.

That's exactly what happens. The PS3 will turn on but there's no picture. I know that it's not a problem with the cords, because I use the same AV cables for my Wii and PS2 and they both work perfectly.

I'll try resetting it by holding the power button. Ngl, I'll be kind of frustrated if the solution really is that simple and I just overlooked it for months.

It's not an overly obvious problem. It happens with my PS3 when I switch TVs too. They just try to be all ~*~HD~*~ and stuff lol.

I'm pretty sure that will fix the problem though. :D
