Busy as hell, but this can't wait.

I might step on a few toes with this post, maybe even get a few people pissed off at me, but I need to get this off my chest.

A Danish newspaper has published some cartoons of the prophet Mohammed which were demeaning:

-from CNN
"A dozen caricatures of the prophet first appeared in September in the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten . Muslims consider some of the images particularly demeaning, including one of Mohammed wearing a turban shaped like a bomb with a lit fuse."

This has angered....oh I don't know........98% of the Mulim world.  They are not just angered, they are pissed off enough to TORCH A FUCKING EMBASSY!!!  The Danish government came out and said "hey, we don't like this either cause it's derogatory, but freedom of expression is allowed so we can't do anything but apologize for their mistake"  Now I'm not Muslim, but I find the picture to be in bad taste.  I'm quite upset that someone would stand behind "freedom of expression" to print such images.

Here's the kicker:  the embassy building housed the embassy's of Sweden and Chile as well as Denmark.  So because 1 newspaper in 1 country has no sense of respect or tact to retract the cartoon and apologize...it makes sense to burn out a building and attack two other nations not related to this incident?  WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!

I'm not about to hate on anyone who is Muslim, as a few of my brothers are Muslim and that is A OK with me, but where is the peaceful nature of the Muslim people and Islam itself?  Where in the scriptures is it written that if Mohammed is blasphemed are you allowed to burn shit?  Where is the peace in that?  I know for a fact that the faith of Islam does not condone this and it is not the act of the people themselves....that it is the result of ignorant extremists with nothing better to do than act a fool over a FUCKING CARTOON!!!  Seriously, it doesn't make yourself look good when your religious icon is made out to be a terrorist and then you go and burn up a building attacking your target and other innocent parties.

No one was hurt in this attack on the embassy as they delegates were on a holiday at the time.  We can thank any and all Gods for that.  But the action itself is still uncalled for and barbaric.  I understand that what was printed was a big time "No-No" for the Muslim people.  I'm not related to those responsible, and I would like to apologize for their stupidity.  But to lash out with physical violence against the attacker and furthermore...innocents... is just fucking retarded.  Those involved with the arson need to go home and read the Koran again and realize that they are in fact going against their faith by what they did.  Bet they forgot that part.

Now I wouldn't be too happy if my prophet was depicted in the same fashion.  And yes, I would be mad as hell too.  But I'm not about to act a fool and go and light fire to a building in protest.  Why??  BECAUSE IT WAS A FUCKING CARTOON.  And furthermore, I have the compassion to forgive.  Just as my prophet has taught the members of my faith, and just as Mohammed taught his people as well.

To the Danish newspaper:  I know my argument for this rant has been that it was just a cartoon.  But get some FUCKING COMMON SENSE.  You can't just go around printing whatever the hell you want.  Freedom of speech, press, expression, and reglion are allowed to the extent as when they start to infringe on another person's freedom.  I have freedom of speech, but I cannot walk into an elementary school classroom and start chanting "fuck the fucking fuckers!" at the top of my lungs.  And yes, you basically did that on a much, much, much larger scale.  Seriously, how the hell do you sleep at night?

In conclusion:  What the newspaper printed AND what the protester's did was very uncool.  Both parties need a time-out and some form of punishment.  But in the end I forgive both sides for their mistakes, and pray to God that they learn from those mistakes as well.  I know that Mulims are humans just like Christians.  I know that there are good and bad members of both religions, and will not hold accountable an entire group for the mistakes of a few.  I just had to vent the way these events have effected me.  And again to that Danish newspaper (Jyllands-Posten) .... look inside yourself and find that last shred of decency and fire the editor that allowed the drawings and the illustrator who supplied them.  An apology isn't enough of a punishment.  Just because you apologized doesn't mean that those who committed the act should not pay for what they did in a fair manner.
