Summary: What if Kevin was the one to get Amnesia. Note: I have absolutely no idea how long it takes to get there from Seattle - I’m pretending a few hours for this fanfiction.



Kitty leaves Robert’ room with Jason in tow

Justin leaves Robert’ room feeling angry; what the hell was Kitty’ problem, why did she have to say what she did. He they really think that Kevin and Jason were going to get back together.

Not if I have anything to do with it Justin says walking straight towards Kevin’ room.

Before he gets there though, he comes across Sarah and Saul sitting in some chairs in the waiting room talking in hushed voices.

He goes over to them and interrupts what they were talking about saying “I can’t believe Kitty” he sits down on the seat opposite them.

“What has she done now?” Sarah says knowingly at Justin. Both slightly shocked though, that Justin is angry with Kitty; they don’t tend to disagree that much.

“She told Jason that Kevin was in love with him” Justin said with a huff in his voice.

Sarah and Saul just sit there in shock for a few minutes not really knowing how to respond. “Why the hell would Kitty do that?” Sarah says breaking the silence.

Justin looks guilty “I thought he already knew about Kevin’ amnesia. I came to tell everyone that Tommy was on his way and just presumed that he knew” Justin says trying to make sure they know it was by accident “Why didn’t anyone mention to me not to tell Jason anyway” he accuses his sister and uncle.

“We just didn’t want him to know. It could hurt both Kevin but we’re worried more about Scotty’s reaction to Jason knowing. You saw what he was like earlier” Saul says concerned that Jason knows and about Kitty’s reaction. It was different to the way she first reacted.

They carry on talking about the situation; in their own little land that they don’t see Kitty and Jason walk pass. They are still engrossed in the conversation when Tommy rings Justin to come and pick him, Julia and Elizabeth up at the airport an hour later.

“Can you tell mum where I’m going” Justin says; not knowing the drama there has been over the last hour. He walks out of the hospital; looking forward to seeing his brother and Julia.

Kevin’ Room

Kevin is enjoying the time by himself; he likes to deal with his problems by himself. He knew as soon as he thought that he was in trouble. The knock on the door happened moments later “Can I come in Kevin” Kitty says; Kevin is surprised she even bothered to asked. He accepts the avertable “Yeah, sure”.

Kitty comes in and closes the door so that Kevin doesn’t see Jason; at least not yet.

“Kevin, um, how are you feeling? We haven’t really had a chance to catch up yet” Kitty says as she walks over to the chair and sits down.

“I’m okay, have a lot to process at the moment with everything and everyone” Kevin says carefully; he doesn’t what to worry her with his issues.

“My mind to trying to play catch up; so it’s saying that you must be married to Robert by now and if the ring on the finger is a sign of any measure; I must be right” Kevin says jokingly.

Kitty looks at down at the ring on her finger and shakes with the effort to not cry. Kevin looks at his sister and how she is “Kitty, want is wrong?” Kevin asks in concern.

“Um, Kevin has anyone told you how you ended up in the hospital?” Kitty asks cautiously, not wanting to shock him.

“Um, no they haven’t, actually they seem to be avoiding the answer when I’ve asked. Just like with everything I’ve asked; they think my body can only handle a certain amount of information at a time. I can handle more than they think though, so what is wrong?” Kevin asks sure that Kitty would tell him if no one else would.

Kitty just shakes her head and says “No, that’s okay; I came for another reason anyway” she looks up at Kevin and not so sure this was a good idea anymore but wanting to know if there was a chance “Kevin. Jason is here. He’d like to see you, if that’s okay with you?” Kitty says hopefully.

Kevin is in completely shock again for what seems like the hundredth time that day. Why would Jason be here? Did he come because he heard that he had been hurt? Or was it because he heard that Kevin had amnesia and wanted to talk to him or maybe start again?

Too many questions were in his head and the person that had the answers was just outside. He looked at his sisters’ hopeful face and said “Okay” gently “but Scotty shouldn’t know about it, okay” Kitty says “Sure” and goes to the door.

In the Hallway outside Kevin’ room

Outside Jason feels like he has been waiting for ages; what if Kevin doesn’t want to see him, he wonders. Kitty comes out eventually watching as Jason roles back and forth on his feet.

“Okay he’ll see you” Kitty says and just before she before she leaves and he enters she whispers “don’t mention anything about Robert; he doesn’t know yet” and she heads for Robert’ room and back to her own problems.

Jason walks in very slowly and looks at the bed with Kevin on; he flashes back to the time when he last saw Kevin on their bed at his apartment. He knows he shouldn’t be thinking about this time, he was sure it was completely over between them. It’s just with the amnesia it brought back the feelings he used to have for Kevin.

They looked at each other like they used to do but both know they shouldn’t.

“Hi Kev” Jason say reluctantly.

“Hi” Kevin says.

Jason sits down in the empty chair next to the bed; they sit there in awkward silence; Jason not knowing what to say and Kevin not understanding why he was there if he didn’t have something to say.

“Jason, Kitty said you wanted to talk to me, can you speak please?” Kevin says worried about Jason and wanting this to be a quick conversation; they aren’t together anymore but it was only yesterday that they were for Kevin.

“Kev, this is difficult” Jason says trying to get the right words to say to Kevin.

“Difficult” Kevin says “Difficult. I just woke up and lost three years of my life. How can you say it difficult for you?” Kevin asks angrily.

“I’m sorry, it’s just I’m not sure what to say really or even why I’m here. You choose Scotty but know that you’re back to where we loved each other; I’m confused” Jason says honestly; you can always trust Jason to be honest.

“I’m confused as well. I mean I love you” Kevin says and Jason looks up and they go to hold hands “but I also know that I choose Scotty; there is a reason for that”.

“I know I screwed up but you just said you love me and there is part of me that still loves you; I think there will always be” Jason says feeling guilty; he is trying to steal someone else husband. He just couldn’t stop himself; there is something about Kevin that makes him question himself and his beliefs every time.

“Are you telling me that you loved me even when I married someone else?” Kevin says now concerned of whether Jason actually moved on when he did. They technically broke-up three years ago. Did the love for Jason fade over the last three years or was it still there even after he met and married Scotty; he hoped not but just didn’t know.

“I don’t honestly know Kevin; I just know that the feelings came back when I heard about your amnesia. I mean I’ve always cared for you and looked back at our time together lovingly but I don’t know if I was in love with you” Jason says answering Kevin’s question.

“I just hoping that maybe we’re in the same place now, where we might have a chance to work at” Jason says hating himself for being needing.

“Jason, I’m married” Kevin looks at Jason in astonishment but they keep their hands together “You are still a minister, aren’t you” Jason just nods and starts getting anger with himself; he shouldn’t have came “I thought you respected the vows that individuals make or because we’re gay it doesn’t matter?” Kevin asked accusingly.

“Of course they matter to me” Jason says first “but you don’t even remember making them, Kevin” Jason says reminding Kevin that he really doesn’t remember the wedding that Scotty and he had; not one little bit. Jason looks at the sad face that Kevin has and says “Maybe this happened for a reason; to give us another go and to give you the chance to marry the right person” Jason says hopeful that he might have a chance with the love of his life.

Kevin looks Jason in the eyes and sees love. He isn’t quite sure how to respond to the situation and just stay in that position forgetting everything else.

They’re still holding hands when the door opens; Scotty and Nora come talking and smiling until they see Kevin and Jason in such close proximity to each other. Their smiles’ disappear at the same time and look at each other.

Kevin says “Scotty” not quite sure how to explain the situation; he drops Jason’ hand and just stares at Scotty.

Scotty goes to leave and remembers how he had interrupted Jason and Kevin’ little tea party nearly three years ago when he wasn’t even sure about his and Kevin’ relationship. If he can do that then; he could fight for Kevin now.

“What is going on?” Scotty asks too calmly; he has his emotions in check. He knows if he pushes the topic with Kevin he is likely to push back just for the sake of it.

Jason looks guilty as he says “Nothing, we were just talking” not explaining what they were talking about; knowing it was something.

“Talking, really” Scotty says looking at both the guilt on their faces “So when you talk you feel the need to hold the others persons hand, do you Jason?” again calmly but looking at his eyes you could see the anger building up.

It’s at this point that Nora gets here senses about her and for once decides not to get involved in her child affair. “Um, I’m going to leave now” Nora says backing out of the room hoping they don’t kill each other. She also knows that Scotty can handle the situation.

She decides to go find everyone else. She needs the distraction and to tell everyone to avoid Kevin’ room like the plague.

Back in Kevin’ Room

“I think maybe I should leave” Jason says rising from the chair.

“No, please sit” Scotty says sarcastically “You looked quite comfortable wouldn’t want to make you feel bad if you’re going through a tough time” Jason looks at Scotty; he hasn’t seen this side of Scotty in a while; since they has that crab dinner. They are actually normally quite civilised when they see each other now; then again I was just kind of hitting on his husband.

“Look I’m sorry, I thought it would be a good idea to talk to Kevin, Kitty even suggested it and Kevin said yes when Kitty asked. I just wanted to talk to him” Jason said trying to explain as he got up; not realizing it made the situation worse.

The first thing that Scotty thinks is that Kevin wanted or needed to talk to Kevin and the second was that it was Kitty that had sent it up. He thought he had the Walkers support in the situation he guess he was wrong.

When Scotty is thinking this Jason has been inching towards the door; not wanting to fight with Scotty. He gave Kevin his option and now he wanted to leave the room and let Kevin and Scotty to talk.

“No, you’re not leaving, I am” Scotty says defeated.

“No, you two should talk, I’m leaving” Jason says hoping to leave the room.

Both men turn and look at Kevin one last time and walk out the room heading in the opposite.

Kevin just stares at the men leaving the room and just sits there for a few minutes before he realizes what just happened. He can’t let that man leave him; he loves him. Hoping he isn’t to late he jumps out of the bed and runs for the door looking for him.

Outside Kevin’ Room

The men look at each other one last time; one heads right and the other head left.

Kevin comes out of his room and looks both ways and sees who he hopes is the right man heading left down the hallway to go outside. He starts to run and shouts his name.

The man stops; deciding what to do; he turns around and faces Kevin waiting for Kevin to speak again.

“Don’t you know that; it was always you, I love you” Kevin says; for the first time today he is sure about something. He loves the man in front of him.

The man looks at him and smiles hearing the words he wanted to hear “I love you too” they look at each other and kiss, the future is promising now he thinks.
