A book about werewolves but not the typical werewolves that change under a full moon or that can change at will. These werewolves only change when the weather is cold. For a few years after being bitten they can return to being human during the summer.
Grace has lived with the wolves in the forest behind her house most of her life. When she is a child, she is attacked by the wolves but saved by one. The wolf with the yellow eyes. Every winter after that, she sees this wolf on the edge of the wood, watching over her.
This is, of course, one of those paranormal romance novels that is so popular right now. I know I should not compare any books like this to Twilight. I try really really hard not to but it still tends to happen.
I like that it’s not like a lot of paranormal romance I’ve read before (adult series included in this) where the girl is suddenly being pursued by a number of guys after no one wanting her before. Likewise, the male lead was also not the model-beautiful type of guy that all the girls fawn over. Basically, it was nice to read a book where the leads were normal (except for the whole werewolf thing) and there wasn’t copious amounts of jealousy and love triangles and squares and octagons all over the place.
While I appreciated that, I can’t say I was blown away by this book. It was entertaining but I wasn’t terribly excited to keep reading. But of course, with the way it ended and now that I know there is 2 other books after it, I will of course eventually have to read them. Oy vey. I keep finding myself in these series that I don’t want to be in. Give me a one-shot!

Now that I will be starting school in August and will [hopefully] be working nights and weekends, reading is going to be near impossible. So now it's a let's-see-how-close-to-50-books-I-can-get-to-in-a-year-challenge.
