You have much more to offer him and your self you just choose not to see it. You love to have fun and you love things that don't involve your room but you have stopped doing those things for some reason.

~Boffing
~Laser tag
~Computer knowledge
~Love and knowledge of Animation
~Love and knowledge of cartoons
~Love of music
~Love of art
~You could take him to an anime convention
~Swimming
~I’m not sure if you are still into the SCA idea or not but you used to be

You should use those computer skills and find a forum for men in your situation. They are out there trust me. Fathers that are estranged from their children. You don't have to take him away from that wonderful life to be a part of it. Seeing you once or twice a year or even just emailing you back and forth could only enrich what he has. You're not the type to bash his mother or step dad to him. So no harm in talking to him. It’s not easy to think of someone else first when that is all you’ve ever had to do but when you love someone it’s not that hard either.

I have to agree with Vic. You have a lot to offer Jacob but it is up to you whether you choose to acknowledge it and give all of what you have to offer to him or not.

Thank you Vic, for seeing that treasure that my son is! He certainly has all that, and much more to offer. I think we all need all the love we can gather up along the way, and Jacob is sure entitled to the love of both his parents and his stepdad. Wouldn't mind giving him some from his gramma as well! I hope, Jesse, you can find a way to maintain a relationship with him, and still protect your heart and feelings! Love you always! Mom

You have more to offer than you realize, I think. In addition to what Vic said you have your love of animals, reading, your ability to stay calm, your job ethic, your tenacity when taking on a new project. Take it bit by bit my dear.
