The Small Rain
Reading a wonderful book right now. The Small Rain, but Madeleine L'Engle. For those of you who don't know, yes, she wrote books other than the Wrinkle in Time series, and yes, she wrote some adult novels (oh and yes, she is often one of my favorite authors). This book is about a girl, and growing up, and a very non-traditional (to me) life.
And I realized in the ER at some godawful hour this am that I keep picturing the main character as a litte petite girl with a sweet face and short spikey red hair. Although the book does often talk about her long black hair, she is petite, and for some reason this book is really reminding me of Alice. Not sure why, but there you have it. Also reminds me a bit of Amalie, although I don't remember much about that movie, either.
A fun read, and I'm almost done with it although I just started it this weekend sometime (I guess there is some good to the ER hours besides Mike still having feet). I have enjoyed it.
Disclaimer: I don't mean to have back-to-back subjects about rain since one of the driest years in LA since sometime in the 1920s... it just happened.
