Wow. So moving went pretty easily. Mike did a few car loads Friday and Saturday, and I took one over on Saturday. Sunday we did a short(er) ride (62ish mi) and then Rich helped and we did all the furniture in one load! Gotta love access to trucks and flatbed trailers. After that it was one more full car each for me and Mike, back to get the bikes and groceries in the kitchen, and on to unpacking and organizing. Oh and a few shopping trips -- the bedroom is going to get a new color scheme (and so the bathroom will as well) and we needed glasses. We didn't find what we want for the bedroom yet. All in all this seems like it will be a relatively painless move. Hopefully we'll get my couch and furniture this weekend, and then it will just be a few more trips in my car. But the putting away/organizing part is something I think Mike and I are both enjoying, and so we actually were up doing so until after 12:30 on Sunday. Given that we are usually asleep by 10ish, that was way late for us.
Mike's foot had been a bit sore Saturday night, feeling and looking like athlete's foot. So he sprayed it. It was more sore Sunday evening, and then Monday AM it was hard to walk on. He kept spraying it and such, but by Monday night there was a red trail going up his foot and it was getting BAAAD, and he could tell it was not athlete's foot. So last night we headed to the urgent care, where 3 hours later the doc said "that doesn't look good. Go to the ER" and sent us over there. His concern was that it could be
Necrotizing fasciitis, aka Flesh-Eating Bacteria! ER blood tests and Xrays later, that was ruled out. 2 IV's of antibiotics were given, and about 4.5 hours of getting there we left, getting home around 4:30 this am.
Needless to say, I emailed work on the way home to say I'd be working from home and later in the morning! Poor Mike however got up and saw a few patients. Then luckily he didn't have a heavy schedule, so with a reschedule of a patient and where his lunch break hits he got to be back in bed from about 10 and will be there til about 2 today. His foot is still sore, but there is less worry. Elevated and heated and all that good stuff. I even taught him my mom's heat compress: a damp microwaved washcloth! He has of course great heating pads at work, but had forgotten to bring any home with him.
Oh also on the way home we were craving burgers. I don't get it, but yeah. So we stopped by Carl's (my first time there in months) and split a burger and mint shake. And plan to head to Applebees to really get our fix (mmmm bruchetta burger!) later this week.
Now back to getting my brain to focus on code. We'll see how long I'm useful today.
