Anchorage "Gangstas":
(This is not directed at the people actually involved in gangs in this city, which there are some; but rather at the rap-wannabe-gangstas...the college student throwing around rap-ebonics about their English class.)
You are in ALASKA. Anchorage is -the only 'city' in the state, and even at that, there are probably countries and states where ANCHORAGE'S status as a city is questionable. Gangsta is an urban stereotype, therefore playing up an urban stereotype in a place that barely counts as urban only makes it all the harder to take you seriously. Most of you have absolutely no concept of "Tha 'Hood"; while Anchorage has some worse neighborhoods, there isn't exactly "Tha ghetto", and if you were introduced to "Tha 'Hood" and "Tha gangstas", you would probably get eaten alive. Especially if you honestly think all "Gangstas" are hiphop-sorts with baggie pants who use the phrase "Mah niggaz" every other word. I will note that the above note about "Probably being eaten alive" includes what local gangs there are, at least one of which I'm fairly sure is actually Spanish-speaking, and therefore unlikely to use that much of the Urban Rap Slang you have apparently practiced.
(I'd say you've likely never been around a firearm or knife, but the amount of hunting and outdoors-things in this state means that's not that reliable.)
