Maintenance fun and Ballista
After maintenance on Wednesday my linkshell decided to camp a few HNMs. First up was LoO, who was seriously camped by half the HMNLS people. It was retarded... I managed to get to the PH first and kill it, wasn't too difficult since it's EP and I'm an {Incredibly Tough} taru. So as soon as I kill the PH 20+ people show up, including Nerevar who has gotten himself 4 (four) Kraken Clubs; all of which he sold at 50mil +. Unbelievable, I need to level my BST asap.
So the next spawn is creeping up and we all start mashing our keyboards/controllers to claim and OMGWTFBBQ we actually get the claim. Doomsayer our resident TH2+1 THF was the only one capable of tanking it. I just kept Rasp/Drown/Frost on it and nuking tier 3 spells to widdle it down. Wasn't bad at all, no one died and we managed to get 2 shall shells... woot?
We moved on to beastmen kings and managed to get the Yag king PH. After that we went Monastic Cavern and saw that the Overlord was up. We started pulling all the links around him so we could get a clean pull; none of us however did a /sea to check if there was anyone else there... Unfortunately after we cleared the links this fgt MNK/NIN grabbed the Overlord and solo'd him. Now he didn't "steal" the NM or anything but clearly our intent was to kill him and he was pretty dirty and underhanded to have taken the mob out from under us like that. He wouldn't have had a chance in hell if it weren't for us clearing the links.
So after that dissapointment we moved onto the Quadav king PH. Now we had ToD for the 3 kings and LoO. Good start IMO.
After the HNM hunting we decided to head over to Pashow and get some ballista in. This was only my second time trying out Ballista and I gotta say I'm getting addicted. BLM get the shaft (as usual) in this event. We can't switch out gear so we can't do max dmg on all of our spells. I decided to go with my Aquillo's Staff since it gave me INT, Elemental Magic, and helped out my Ice spells. I figured at least I'll do better dmg than if I were to wear my Dark Staff. Oh, and once i got there i noticed that the MNK/NIN that stole our orc king was on the opposite team. /joy! At least I could take out my aggression on him in Ballista, and boy did it feel good to see him drop due to my Thundaga 3. ;)
Anyway, it was a good night all-in-all. Things are looking good in the LS and people are starting to enjoy the game again. Our LS is generally drama free but we have our spikes where things just explode and then return to normal. I had my doubts about things going back to normal this last time but luckily people worked out their differences and thanks to Ballista we were all able to take out our aggression on each other.
Oh, and as a follow up to the PH we managed to not only claim the Orc King (not the PH) the next day -and- get the Juggernaut, but we also killed the Quadav King for a nice scroll of R3, which I hope to be using as soon as I get my WHM high enough. Don't know the status of LoO as I didn't get home till late. I think someone got ToD, or at least I hope so. {money} {can I have it?}
