A dream come true? Go Susan Boyle!
I know this is old news (after all, on Internet, what happened three days ago is already old news) but I had to post it. And I know we can't believe in anything we see on television nowadays - I even HATE reality shows - but...
British, unemployed, 47 year old Susan Boyle decides to participate in a reality show called "Britains Got Talent". It is a British television show on ITV (also on TV3 in Ireland), and part of the Got Talent series created by Simon Cowell , an American Idol judge.
She says her dream is to perform in front of a large audience and be a professional singer as famous as Elaine Page.
She says she used to be humiliated by her classmates at school when she was a child because she had a learning disability. However, she still wanted to sing and her mother encouraged her. After her mother died, she decided to pursue her dream.
Everybody laughs when Susan steps on the stage, that old fashioned, strange, almost ugly, almost fat woman. Nobody gives her too much credit. From tech crew to competitors to public, everybody was making fun of her and saying "who the fuck is this loser?".
Judges and audience laugh even harder when she says she is going to sing "I Dreamed a Dream", from the musical Les Miserables, a very difficult piece.
And then Susan Boyle starts to sing and I could imagine her thinking "who is the loser now, fuckers?" LOL
