a walk in Granada

Last Saturday I spent a day in Granada, which is about 12km from my town, Masaya. Most tourists loooooooooove Granada, whereas i have always been thinking it is a little too "made up" (for tourists, and well, they fall for it). but this time, i had some walks in mind. i wanted to see the old train station & old hospital to take photos and i wanted to walk off into non touristy parts of the city.

I must say i really enjoyed Granada this time. I went with the Swiss girl i am living with ATM and her hairless dog. so here are some of my fave photos, all around sunset because it is just the best time of the day to take photos:

on of the main streets to enter Granada, can you see the beautiful volcano, Mombacho, covered by a thick blanket of clouds in the background? it was such a perfect atmosphere.

creepiness... photos of the old hospital, which is in ruins and you cannot even enter anymore.

this photo so reminds me of the English Patient. i am not sure if it is anything similar in the movie or if i just mix it up with my own fantasy (i also read the book back then).

once more the main entrance and a little square + tree in front of it

this is a pretty exotic shot. i was taking it with flash mode, but i often hold the flash down, so that is won't activate (not sure if that is intelligent but i believe pix turn out better in some light) and so it took the light of a streetlamp. looks so unreal but i love it.

a hotdog guy rolling home for the night, on main street like everyone else. love that pic as well.

pix, granada, trips, nica
