relevant worries
after my ramblings yesterday, now i got news from Rosita that actually are hard to believe.
Seems like 5 people have been killed until last night (4 of them yesterday, one already on friday). obviously for political motives (there are elections coming up this year in november and nobody really knows how heated up the situation will be).
Rosita is part of the mining triangle (Siuna-Bonanza-Rosita) and it is by far the roughest part of Nicaragua (not counting from Managua IMHO). still, I have always loved it, felt great with people there and thought they were calm.
But, what sort of worries me is that those people were specifically targeted and shot out on the countryside... my co-worker from Rosita told me, one was murdered on the path we hiked last week. this is scary... ok, to be honest i cannot even say it scares me... because i find these news so hard to believe. Like i won't believe them unless i SEE proof with my own eyes!!!!
anyway, i was supposed to organize an other workshop in one of the villages but my co-worker told me, nobody will leave town for work anymore. We are gonna do everything in the office now. no more field trips. *sniff*
makes me a little sad but i understand the danger, of course.
