Mead update
D47 at 1.012, K1V at 1.062, with honey height at 1 and 3/8ths inches.
I think it's pretty safe to say that honey dissolution rate is between 1/4 and 1/2 of an inch each day. If that's right it should all be gone within a week.
D47 ABV up to 9.4%
Burnt rubber smell coming from D47 now, need to get a copper scrubbing brush and stick it in the mead for a couple days-weeks to precipitate all that sulfur out. Gonna have to do that before this weekend, don't want to run the risk of the H2S forming additional compounds that aren't volatile or as easy to get rid of by scrubbing.
