Another busy weekend!

Job interview was Friday morning. I didn't get it. I didn't sell myself enough in the interview, and someone else did better. I did have a strong application form though.

Saturday Ian was off work. Karate in the morning was epic (very hard class, but lots of fun!) and we have a new dojo! St Gregory's Church looks very promising and lovely. Saturday afternoon we spent at home, he getting the pattern for saifa down and I going through saifa a couple of times and bassai dai a couple of times. Then just laziness and chilling out, before going out in the evening with Kerry and Ben and some of their friends. We went to Lloyds for a couple of hours, while it was nice to see Kez and Ben the music there was as shit as ever. Went to Redeemer after for a couple of hours for some decent music! Met up with Sam there, we really need to get him a nice girl. He's such a nice guy and he's so happy for me and Ian. Didn't stay there very long, we were both pretty shattered from class, so got a taxi home. Stupid taxi driver didn't know the difference between Heatherbrook Road and Harris Road, or left from right...but that aside...!

This morning, breakfast was courtesy of Tesco cafe which was very nice. Drinks are expensive, but the food is nice and it's always nice when someone else cooks breakfast for me. Lots of chilling out at home today, followed by him going to work. He's coming over tomorrow evening and is talking about coming over early to cook dinner for me so it'll be ready for when I get home, how lovely is that!

In a lot of ways we're already living together. He's got some clothes at mine, he spends more of his free time with me than he does at home. I'm happy, and a little scared at the same time. I really want a long and happy future with him, and he wants the same with me, but the prospect is still a little scary!

Karate update: I know a bit of seiunchin, which is my next kata; more of it than I'd realised. There is a dedicated kata class on Thursday nights at Crown Hills, or there's the normal class at New Parks. I like the idea of kata class, I really do. I enjoy katas, and I like learning more and refining what I already know. I really like regular classes too and would get tired of just doing katas and no kumite ever again (as for instance) but we normally do kumite at the other classes so it's not like I'll miss out on that. I think if I did join the kata class I might do better to take my kit bag and some extra food in to work and go straight from there than to come home and go from here. It's the right side of town for work, and the opposite side from home, and it's a 6.30 start. What I absolutely can't do is go and train without eating first...that just ends badly...

Still considering the pre-paid training option. The problem is, which option to go for? If we buy together, and we will definitely train at least twice a week, we won't actually save anything if we go for the 3 month pass - we'd be paying the same as we would if we paid per class, if we took on any extra classes then we'd be getting them effectively "free". If we went for the 12 class pass and bought them together, we'd save money - but if we got to the point that we had to buy them separately (if one or the other of us missed a few classes and it fell that one ran out significantly before the other) then we would actually be spending more. If I do go up to three classes per week, and take to it well, I'm thinking the best option might be the 3 month pass for me and the 12 class pass for Ian. We train together twice a week every week barring incident, I train the third time for "free", and they expire at the same time so we won't get the thing of buying separately and so spending more. It's all a bit confusing overall... I was considering asking for a 3 month or 12 class pass for my birthday, but if it was just one bought alone then it might actually cost more than I'd be spending on my training anyway so seems like a lame duck of a present. Pondering, and arithmetic, will continue.
