Title: Bonds of time
Pairing: angsty yamajima friendship and yamachii
Rating: PG
Notes: for mtfanatic because it’s yamachii. This story is fictional, partially inspired by yamajima’s insistence on having been twins in a previous life and a weird vision/dream [product of overactive imagination I'm sure]. Hopefully this ending makes up for the evil angst ride I was on last week.

Bonds of time ch.8 Yuto heard wails and maniacal laughter in the darkness, he ran towards the sound. He saw Yama-chan on the ground trying to avoid blows. He pulled the dark figure off him and tried to protect him. The familiar voice snapped, “Why are you protecting her now? You helped me nearly kill her already. She left me, you all left me. I was an orphan with no one. No one wanted me. You never did.”
Yuto cradled Yama-chan in his arms, “She didn’t have a choice; she should never have had you. It was too much for her body. She had never been strong; she wanted to stay with you. She wanted you so much. She loved you…”
The voice screamed defiant, “No. No. She left me. She didn’t want me.”
Ryosuke blinked, “No…” it took a while to remember, “I’m sorry…I never meant to. He’s right listen to your uncle…Kaoru always knew I wouldn’t live long…he told me to be careful…” It wasn’t Ryosuke speaking anymore it was echo of Akiko, an imprint on their shared soul. She sat up and held out her arms to her son, “Come here…let me hold you. I know it’s been so long since I held you but I loved you. Naoki, your father begged me to stay. I couldn’t, I tried to hang on long enough to leave you for him to love…”
The voice faded into a low whisper, “Father didn’t want me either you all left me alone. I wanted my parents. I wanted to know they loved me to honor my father’s memory. I was raised as Kaoru’s son but I was Naoki’s I didn’t know who to honor so I did neither honor. Look at me a hideous visage of myself. I never felt a part of anything, I was alone. All of my family died before I did. I died alone no one to care or to mourn.” the hostile spirit fell into her arms its voice falling silent.
Ryosuke caressed the spirit gently, “I loved you and I’m sorry I had to leave you. We all are, your father loved me too much. I told him to stay and love you. I’m grateful to your uncle for loving you and making sure you grew up loved.”
Yuto smiled at him, “You were like a son to me, a treasure. You had your father’s laughter and your mother’s smile. You were always dancing or drawing, you were a born artist. You had such a loving spirit…” it hurt to see what death had done to someone he’d raised and loved…Yuto was actually watching from what seemed like far away still holding Yama-chan. Ghosts, imprints of their past lives were reconciling with the vengeful spirit.
The spirit wept, “Tell father Hirofumi loves him and I’m sorry…I won’t try to hurt you anymore. If we meet again be kind to me, pray that my sins might be forgiven.”
Yuto smiled, “There is nothing to forgive. If you are truly repentant all will be well. Go and know we love you, we always loved you…”
Ryosuke watched the spirit disappear; it felt weird hearing another voice speak with his mouth, or seeing flashes of familiar memories from ages ago. That was weird, his son? No their son…he was still getting used to knowing he’d been a girl before. At least he understood why he was so close to Yuri and Yuto. He glared at Yuto, “I guess I have to forgive you too…”
Yuto nodded, “I’m sorry. I was wrong. You’re being sick is my fault. If I hadn’t tried to keep you and Chii apart it wouldn’t have happened…”
Ryosuke shook his head, “I made the choice to not eat. You can’t blame yourself…”
Yuto sighed, “Alright…shall we go home? I don’t like this place…”
Ryosuke nodded taking his hand, “I want to go back. I want to tell Yuri I’m sorry…”

Chii woke up from his drug induced stupor and walked into Ryosuke’s room. He saw Yabu curled up on the floor his head in Shoon’s lap and Daiki curled up in a chair near Ryosuke’s bed. He was calm now as if he knew there was nothing to fear anymore. He noticed something strange, Yuto lay with bandaged wrists in the bed next to Ryosuke, they were both smiling and holding hands. He knew that was a good sign. He knelt and pressed those hands to his heart, all his fear and anger vanishing.
Ryosuke woke up first, he called out weakly, “Yuri…” Yuto’s hand falling from his own.
Chii knelt beside Ryosuke’s bed, “I’m here angel…I’m not leaving…”
He smiled weakly, “I’m sorry…I shouldn’t have done this. I felt so alone as if no one cared anymore. I sleep too much and forgot to eat.”
Chii kissed him, “I’m sorry I got jealous and angry, I should have trusted you more…”
Yuto called out from the other bed, feeling dizzy and swearing to throw out his knife and sword collection, “Are you angry with me still…”
Chii sighed, “I should be…but I’m not. You’re both okay, that’s what matters…”
Ryosuke closed his eyes and whispered almost too silently to hear, “Hirofumi said he was sorry and he loved you…”
Chii blinked and stammered repeating the name…
Ryosuke smiled, “Don’t worry about it. I’m yours and nothing is going to separate us again. When I get out of here I want to go home with you…”
Chii grinned, “Sounds wonderful…” he turned to Yuto, “Why don’t you go find your soulmate and stay out of our love life…”
Yuto giggled, “Soulmates? Interesting term…there can be different interpretations. Get Yama-chan to tell you the story of Akiko, Kaoru and Naoki someday. Don’t forget about Hirofumi, and the others.” He gestured briefly to Daiki, Yabu and Takaki who finally stumbled in. Yuto sighed going back to sleep, real sleep; he was drunk again. He needed rested the stress of the last few months had caught up with him.

It was Yuto and Yama-chan’s first concert tour back after their brushes with death, Tengoku was the name of the tour.
Yuto and Yama-chan had explained the whole story to Chii, Yabu, Daiki and Takaki; the real story behind the last few months.
Yabu had blushed and ignored the hell out of Daiki but it did seem to explain his protective tendencies with yamajima.
Daiki had gotten really uncomfortable; he didn’t mind thinking of yamajima as his kids but married to Yabu? Girl in a past life or not it was totally creepy.
Takaki didn’t really get it but that was okay, Yuto remembered the way he’d seen Takaki watching Yama-chan in his dream and how close he’d sat with Daiki. He was certain that Takaki had loved Daiki and adored his kids as his own. He thought it was for the best that Takaki had forgotten. Daiki wouldn’t want to remember that Takaki had been in love with him; it might make things more complicated.
Chii thought it was interesting, that these five souls had come back together again. That Yuto was still the protective big brother and best friend. Ryosuke was still the love of his life and Yabu still tried to mother them all. Daiki well they’d always had a good relationship. He grinned, kissing Ryosuke, “For Hirofumi…”
Ryosuke blushed, “I guess…”
The tour was a success and though the other five members were left out of the family that seemed to come back together again they each had their own role to play in the group that was Hey Say JUMP. The bonds the original five shared were unbreakable but new bonds could prove to be just and tangible. Perhaps next time these ten souls would find each other again…
