He stood and walked out towards the window, he rest his hand on the windowpane. The rain fell from the gray sky and flowed down the glass. He listened as the clock as it ticked its way to midnight. A sad smile crossed his lips, "Happy birthday Yuri...I wish I could say that in person..." his arms ache to hold Yuri...another year had passed. He still missed him and yet...despite all the friends he had now, no one could replace Yuri in his heart as his best friend. No one had managed to steal his heart...
He glanced at his laptop, he turned it on and posted his present, a sketch of a dancer that had Yuri's face that was smiling but his eyes were sad. He tagged it as a birthday present for Yuri but used his ex's account name,
He smiled sadly, as he went back to bed. He closed his eyes whispering, "I hope you have a wonderful day, my love..." a tear slid down his cheek, he should be there...but it was his fear that prevented this...
