Dear Yuletide Writer,
We’re the perfect match! I love reading fanfiction because I get to see something that I love made new through somebody else’s eyes. You signed up to have fun writing in the fandom we’ve matched on. Please do remember that optional details are optional, and I hope you have a great Yuletide this year!
Some people prefer no details at all, in which case have fun and I’ll see you after reveals!
But if you like more detail, I’ve written a letter.
About Me
I’m kurushi on AO3 and fanfiction.net, LiveJournal and Dreamwidth. Kurushi has become a more popular username since the late 90s, so any other kurushis are probably not me.
Likes
Unconventional romance, especially people lusting or falling for traits that are not considered attractive by mainstream society.
People and families who see the world in a different way to those around them.
Old houses with interesting and secret places.
Symbols, archetypes and what they mean to different people.
I'm open to alternate universes, crossovers between my requests or things I may know from the Yuletide 2016 tagset (check with a mod if in doubt).
I am comfortable reading any rating, including coarse language and sex scenes involving people over the age of 18 (see dislikes). I am comfortable reading any kinks that don't involve body fluids, as long as there's clear consent.
I am happy to read about any sexuality, orientation or identity, provided that you write anything outside of your own experience with respect and empathy.
Do-not-wants
I prefer not to read abusive violence against children at Christmas. Since “abuse” can mean different things to different people, anything that happens in the canon that we matched on is okay, but please don’t get any more graphic than that.
I'm Australian and there's
been some issues with porn and child characters that give me reason to be cautious. Please don't write me any sex scenes involving people under 18 years old, or if you are a writer under 18.
I am not comfortable reading stories involving abuse, child abuse, sexual abuse, terminal illness, or non-consensual sex.
Requests:
Fandom: Addams Family TV
Characters: Morticia Addams, Gomez Addams
I love the TV series, but if you offered this thinking it was the film, I am also happy to receive a story based on the films. My requests, however, focus on the TV series.
Morticia and Gomez, together, are perfect. I'd love to read a story that reflects that playful, indulgent silliness as well as their enduring and passionate love. There’s a lot of tropey plotlines in the series. I’d love to see an alternate version of amnesiac Gomez, unable to cope with the Addams eccentricities, but pining for a love he doesn’t even know he has lost. Perhaps during a conflict between other members of the family, Gomez and Morticia accidentally pick opposing sides to support. A snapshot of the time between their marriage and the main timeline would also be wonderful to read.
Fandom: Beetlejuice
Characters: Beetlejuice, Lydia Deetz
I've written Lydia/Beetlejuice before, but I know the pairing isn't everyone's cup of tea. Feel free to write romance, friendship, or horror. I'd like to read about interaction between the living and the dead. Perhaps circumstances force Beetlejuice and Lydia to cooperate, or somebody else in Lydia's life summons Beetlejuice and she has to deal with the situation.
I loved the house in the film, and how it is used to reflect the ideas of family, death, and the emotions of the characters. A story focusing on a different kind of building would be really interesting, especially as it relates to Lydia and where she is in life during your story.
Fandom: Tarot Cafe
Characters: Pamela, Belus|Belial
I would love to read a story following on after the end of the manga. What is the future like for Pamela and Belus, now that there are no secrets between them? What kind of games can they play? Either a romance or a friendship between them would be awesome.
I'm also interested in what happened during all those years between that final conflict and the epilogue. There's a lot of things that Pamela could have seen, and how she re-established herself and her business. I like the symbolism of tarot, so any glimpse of a reading or use of symbolism in the story would also be fun. Pamela’s London isn’t a London that I am familiar with, so perhaps you could show us some part of this city with its supernatural secrets.
Comments are screened, so if you comment and it doesn't show up, I'm probably at work and I'll get to you soon as I can.
