On a new year’s eve shortly after I got my first VCR - 1981-2 or so - I got as copy of Johann Strauss’ Fledermaus from the local PBS station. It was a production I fell in love with - directed by Otto Schenck, conducted by Carl Böhm, performed by the Wiener Staatsoper. We finally saw Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. It took us a while because of a tradition of ours. That is, before we see the new Harry Potter movie, we watch the entire series so far, in order. Each time the process grows longer, like the House that Jack Built. Or on this case, Harry.
