I guess there are certain things that one takes to be common knowledge, when they're really not. Take, for instance,
this Daily Deviation on DeviantArt. Looks quite nice, and ooh look, there's a kitty in the background. Then I read the description, and it mentions that the cat is male. But it's tricolored. Tricolored cats are always female. Doesn't everyone know this?! And yet, last semester, while workshopping a story from one of my classmates, I had to point out to him that the cat described as a tom in his story was more likely to be female because of its coloring.
Is it only crazy people like me who know these things? I mean, imagine the implications if people didn't know this. You could be out somewhere, and you get introduced to a tricolored cat named, say, Marmalade. And you'd say, "Nice to meet you, Mr. Marmalade," and she'd be like, "Excuse me, it's MS. Marmalade, what kind of an idiot are you???"
...Anyway. Go
here and click on the link that says "Lindsay Lohan Does Harry Potter". It is funny. And yes, I am shallow.
