Chapter 8
“He is your first best friend, and the one you care the most that time”
“What? Could you please repeat what you just say?” Ryosuke ask, he can’t really understand what Chihiro just say.
“I said that he is your first best friend”
“Not that one, the one before that and the one after that!” Ryosuke said firmly.
“Oh, you mean the ‘he has the same name as your new best friend’ and… ‘The one you care the most that time’ part.”
“Yeah that part.”
“Oh, okay. Umm… come in and I will tell you what you should know”
Chihiro invite Ryosuke into her room. Ryosuke walk in and sit at the sofa while waiting for Chihiro to tell everything he needs to know.
Chihiro sit at her bed. She looks at Ryosuke, she feels a little bit unsure if she should tell her little brother about it or not. She, her self still can’t proof that what she guess are true.
“Nee-chan, I’m waiting… just tell me what you know”
“Calm down Chihiro, it is okay to tell Ryo-chan about his past because soon he will remember it himself. And for that Nakajima guy, I think I shouldn’t tell Ryo-chan about it first. Wait until he get all his memories back.” Chihiro say to herself. Chihiro take a deep breath before she says her word.
“Do you still remember Ryo-chan. Seven year ago, when you had an accident, you actually lost several part of your memory.”
“What do you mean nee-chan? I lost my memory? But I still can remember myself that time.”
“I said several part of your memory, ototo.”
“Oh, so which part that I lost?”
Chihiro shut her mouth for a while. “No Chihiro, Ryosuke should know it. It is about his life”
“The memories that you lost was the part with the boy in that picture. The memories that always bring you happiness.”
“This boy”
Ryosuke point his finger at the boy in the picture. Then he feels something suddenly come across his mind. They hug each other, tears streams down their face. “Promise me Yuto-kun; promise me you will never forget me. Promise that you will always call or write a letter to me. Promise me you will find me so that we will be able to play together again.”
Ryosuke touch his head. He feels like his head is spinning. Seeing Ryosuke condition, Chihiro immediately run to his direction.
“Ryosuke, are you okay”
“Yeah, I’m okay. Just that my head is a little bit hurt”
“Do you start remembering something?”
“I guess so; I see me and the boy hug and crying.” Ryosuke try to recall what he sees earlier.
“Don’t force yourself Ryosuke, let the memory come back slowly.” Chihiro hold Ryosuke hand.
Chihiro feel so bad, she can’t stand seeing her beloved little in hurt. She bites her lips.
“I’m sorry Ryo-chan. This is my fault.” Chihiro said, her eyes start to become teary.
“What do you mean your fault?” Ryosuke ask, he doesn’t get it why his sister suddenly say that and cry.
“Mom and dad say that I should tell you everything sooner so that you will never face everything like this, suffering from not knowing your true feeling. But… but…, that memory… that part, is also the one that hurting you the most. I had promise myself to not let you experience something like that anymore! That why I don’t tell you sooner.” Chihiro cry. Ryosuke can hear his sister sobbing.
“Tell me the true nee-chan. I really need to know everything now.”
“No Ryosuke, I can’t do that.”
“What do you mean? I need to know it!” Ryosuke is now angry.
“I can’t Ryo-chan. I can’t break that promise... But there is one thing that can help you.” Chihiro stand up from her place and walk to her closet. She is searching something there. “Ah, found it” Chihiro walk out from her closet with a medium size red box at her hand. Ryosuke’s name craves on the top of the box. She hand the box to Ryosuke.
“What this” Ryosuke ask. He opens the box and sees a book and a few more things.
“It is just some of your thing from the past. I keep it for you until time like this come.”
“Oh, okay. I will take it back.” Ryosuke put the box beside him.
“Now, we back to our conversation. Nee-chan, what do you mean with this boy have the same name with my new best friend?”
“Oh, that one! Actually I just guess it.”
“Guess?”
“Yeah, you said that your new friend name is Nakajima Yuto right. That boy has the same name.”
Ryosuke lift the picture up high. He keeps on staring at the boy. “How suspicious”
“Don’t worry, we can’t tell that they are the same person. You know, people said that in this world, there will be someone that looks just same as us.” Chihiro said. She decided to not telling Ryosuke about the said boy.
“Souka, I guess you right. Maybe it is just the name that similar. Their faces are totally not same. The Yuto I know at school is more handsome and taller from the one in this picture.”
“Handsome…” Chihiro giggle. She moves closer to Ryosuke and whisper to his ears.
“So you admit it”
“Admit what?” Ryosuke tilt his head upon hearing Chihiro whispering to him.
“You like him”
“Hell, no way!”
“heh~!” Chihiro smirk. Somehow what, she can sense a new personality from her little brother every time they mention that boy name.
“Just what reason that make you conclude that I… lov… like him, nee-chan?” Ryosuke almost say love. He feels a little hot when saying it. “Ah, maybe nee-chan air cooler is broken down, that why I feels hot earlier.” But when Ryosuke glance at the air cooler, it is working 100%
“Because it is unusual for my little brother who has a very high pride and too high ego, to admit that there is some other people that handsome. Usually he will say that he is the one that handsome.”
“That’s… not what I mean actually”
“So, what do you mean actually, my little brother…” Chihiro keep on teasing him.
Ryosuke shut his mouth. Can’t stand being teased by his sister so much, Ryosuke walk out of Chihiro’s room. “I’m going back to my room. Thanks for telling me everything nee-chan. Oh, and thanks for this box too.”
“Ryo-chan?.” Chihiro call his name.
“What?” he asks.
“Please forgive me. I promise I will help you to recall everything.”
“Thanks nee-chan.”
“I will help you Ryo-chan. But, I will do that after I finish all my assignment. Wait I already help you, all I need to do is continue my secret plan.” Chihiro move back to his table to continue working on her collage assignment.
“I should call him first, so he can make a preparation” Chihiro take out her phone and dialing someone number on it.

As soon as he enters his room, Ryosuke lock the door. He walks to his table and slowly opens the box.
“I wonder what in here? There are so many things.”
Ryosuke then notice a book. He takes the book and sits at his sofa. “This book is the most suspicious. But it look cute, it even have a strawberry picture in front of it.”
Ryosuke flicks the book sheets one by one and sometime he will stop awhile and read what was written in there.
Until then, Ryosuke meet the entry that seems to be the last one. He read it out loud.
“Including today, it is already one year since the last time I heard your voice, Yuto-kun. I really miss you. Why won’t you call me or at least send me a letter. Do you still remember me? Or you already meet new friends Yuto-kun, so that you don’t need me anymore? Please Yuto-kun; I really need to meet you.”
Suddenly Ryosuke feel his heart tighten when reading it. Ryosuke read the next paragraph.
“You really hurting my feeling, I hate you Yuto-kun. Yet I can’t hate you, because I really love you. Now and forever.”
When Ryosuke finish reading it, he can feel a drop of water run down his chubby cheek. He is crying.
“Why am I crying just from reading a book?” But even if he says that, Ryosuke can’t stop his tears from stream down.
“Maybe this is what I’m feeling when writing this entry that time.”
Ryosuke feel so sad, somehow he can feel what he is feeling eight years ago. He wipes his tears. He stay silent, unable to describe what is he feeling right now. It is all mixed up.
After that day, whenever Ryosuke meet Yuto, he will be having two feeling. One is irritating or annoying or hate. And the other one is, happy or sweet or anyone could say that he like it.
While Yuto, he will never give up. Not until his one month challenge end. He tries to do everything. He helps Yama-chan whenever the latter have something to do, he try to act more lovable and sweet to him and a many more. Yuto can see sometime Yama-chan enjoying it, he look so cute. But there is also some time when he will look so irritated with Yuto.
Day by day Ryosuke start to remember thing slowly, thanks to the box and the book that Chihiro give him. It helps a lot. Ryosuke know almost remember everything. That’s why every time he meet Yuto he can’t stop to feel had being betrayed by him, though that Ryosuke still can’t proof that Yuto really is the boy. Everything is still so blur to him. But Ryosuke is aware with one thing. Even if he feels that way, he can’t hate Nakajima Yuto.
“Hey, everyone, want to hang out somewhere after school today?” Hikaru said. The teacher is absent so the student are free to do their business.
“Hmm… that sounds good. Where do you want to go Hikaru?” Daiki ask.
“How about… Karaoke”
“Agree! It been a very long time since last time we go there. How about you guys, doesn’t feel like singing?” Daiki ask the other members.
“Since my parents are not home today, I think it is okay for me to hang out” Inoo said.
“I don’t care. It is fun to sing together.” Chinen is also agreeing.
“No problem with me.” Yuto also agree to join the other members.
“Me too” Ryosuke said lazily.
“Yosh! Karaoke, wait for us!” Hikaru says, he lifts his hand up high. Suddenly
“Hey Yuto, there is some girl here want to meet you!”One of their classmate call Yuto, saying that someone want to meet him.
“Who’s that Yuto?” Inoo ask.
“I don’t know her” Yuto shake his head. He never knows any girl from this school. He is new there right?
Yuto walk out of class to meet the girl. From inside they can see the girl ask Yuto to follow her to somewhere. Yuto just agree and follow the girl lead.
“You know what happen?” Hikaru ask the other.
“A love confession. Maybe?” Daiki said. Usually if scene like before happen, its mean that the girl want to confess her love to them.
“What!” Ryosuke shout madly, make the other four to look at him. He, whose all the time shut his mouth, suddenly exclaimed madly just when Daiki said that Yuto got a love confession.
“What wrong with you Ryo-chan? Suddenly shouting like that. You are freaking surprise me.” Daiki said. He feels like having a heart attack earlier when Ryosuke shout.
“I know you hate losing, but we still don’t know if it really is a love confession or not.” Inoo pat ryosuke shoulder, asking him to calm down. It is their everyday bet; who’s ever got their love confession first that day will win.
“Oh, O..okay. Sorry because I shout at you Dai-chan.”
“It is okay, I already use to you shouting at me”
After awhile, Yuto come back to class with a big smile. Upon seeing that, Ryosuke feel unease. He keeps on staring at Yuto until the taller sit at his place.
“So Yuto, what is it. Let me guess, a love confession?” Chinen ask. He is eager to know why Yuto smile so big.
“Well, you could say it as yes. Yeah, it is a confession. And you know what happen…”
“Eh?! Something good happen? Nani? Nani?” Chinen ask. He moves closer to Yuto. Not just Chinen, the other especially Ryosuke is also eager to know what happen.
“Well it happen likes this…” Yuto start his story.
-Few minutes earlier at the rooftop-
“So why are you drag me here?” Yuto ask the girl.
“Yuto-sama, actually… I love you! Please go out with me!” That girl bow a little in front of Yuto.
“I’m sorry but I can’t go out with you.” Yuto said straightly toward the girl.
The girl shakes her head. “I already know that Yuto-sama will say like that too. The other fifth Ikemen also always say like that. But I will never give up.”
“No, please give up! I don’t want to give you a useless hope.” Yuto said firmly. He really doesn’t want this girl to bother his life.
“If Yuto-sama says like that… I will give up.”
Yuto feel a little relive when she said that. But her next word shocks him the most.
“I will give up if Yuto-sama willingly to kiss my lips”
“OMG~~” Yuto had his mouth hanging open.
-Back to the current time and place-
“So, do you accept her request? Or you reject it? Which one” Chinen ask, he is curious to know what happen next. He already know that Yuto love Ryo-chan, so he want to know can Yuto betray his love?
“I accept it. But not at the lip, only at her cheek.” Yuto says, receiving a loud shocking voice from his friend.
BAM! Yuto jump a little when he heard someone slam the door hardly. The other also shock. They even shock when they notice that Ryosuke is not at his sit anymore.
“Anoo… Ryo-chan?” Daiki look around the class, he look for his best friend who suddenly missing.
“If you are looking for Yamada-san, he is not here anymore. He was already out of class few second ago. Not forget to mention, he slam the door hardly when he go out. Poor door…” One of their classmates tells them what happen.
They can only glance at each other. Not knowing what happen to the latter. Only Chinen and Inoo notice what happen. For Chinen, he is not sooo happy with it.
“Seems like I should move on to my next plan already” He said in his heart.
“Looks like you can’t control your own feeling anymore Yama-chan.” Inoo can just shake his head; he doesn’t know that Ryosuke will react like that.
Ryosuke is running to the restroom. He keeps on cursing himself. “Damn! Damn! Damn! Why did I react like that?”
He leaned at the sink and turned on the faucet washing his face through the gushing cold water. Ryosuke look at his reflection in the mirror. “Why do I feel so mad when he said that he… kiss the girl?” when Ryosuke said it, he start to feel mad again. He splashes more water to his face to calm down.
Ryosuke only return to the class a minute before the next class start. When he comes back he has his usual face back, but the deadly auras still lingering around him. Not forget to mention when he walk pass Yuto, Ryosuke can’t stop himself from sending the taller a dead glare. Luckily, Yuto doesn’t notice that.
Even if the other is so eager to know what happen to him, they have to wait later. Because, they are aware that at time like this, they shouldn’t bother Yamada Ryosuke. Or there will be no tomorrow for them.
