Family Meeting || Kwon Sohyun/Jang Dongwoo || 436
Sohyun had been apprehensive about taking Dongwoo to meet her family. They were a little deranged and overly protective but Dongwoo had insisted on going to get approval. It hadn’t gone over that well. Especially not when Jiyong saw their linked hands the moment they walked into the house.
“Oppa,” and he looked up, blinking slowly at her before his cheeks darkened and he looked a little grumpily at the floor. She gently hooked a finger under his chin and lifted his head so their eyes met. Dongwoo managed a smile around the compress he had pressed to his face. They were in the kitchens.
“I’m all right Sohyun-ah,”
“Yuri-unnie is really sorry,” Sohyun dropped next to him, taking a seat. He grunted in disbelief, his disgruntled expression fading as she leaned into him. He linked their hands and Sohyun murmured gently, “I told you to be prepared. I did say they were protective.”
“Protective isn’t the right word. I swear I was going to die just for holding your hand,” Dongwoo looked down at their linked hands. “I know they’re your cousins and I’m glad that they’re watching out for you and all but honestly, you’re my girlfriend. I should be able to hold your hand without dying.”
“You can. And besides they’ll come around.” Sohyun squeezed their linked hands and Dongwoo kissed the crown of her head, letting his chin rest on her hair.
“I hope so. Because I don’t want to die each time we come for a family gathering,” Dongwoo’s voice was low and Sohyun felt her cheeks heat lightly.
“Hey! Get your hands off our Sohyunnie!” the shriek was loud and Sohyun blinked when her boyfriend gently pushed her aside to stand face to face with her cousin Jiyong.
Sohyun shook her head as she watched Dongwoo get face to face with the older man, seconds from spitting at him. There was a light touch to her shoulder and Sohyun smiled when Boa joined her, sitting lightly.
“Sohyun-ah, are you sure he’s the one? I mean, you’re still young, you have plenty of time.” Boa commented light as they watched the impending fight. Sohyun just smiled and waved when Yuri joined them.
“I’m sure,” Sohyun said gently. Yuri sighed and hugged her tiny cousin.
“Alright then. I guess I approve for now. He’s testing his luck though. No one with brains wants to fight Jiyong-oppa.”
She had been apprehensive about bringing Dongwoo to meet her deranged family. But as she watched her boyfriend argue (just seconds from actually fist fighting) with Jiyong, Sohyun decided it was all right. They liked him.
Catch Me If You Can || Bang Sungjoon/Lee Sunny || 492
There was a light touch at her shoulder, fingers gently brushing the back of her neck, shivers bolting down her spine at the touch and she just reacted. Her hand snapped out, twisting as if she had no bones and instantly, she had the stranger sprawled flat on the floor, a knee digging into his spine. Her hair brushed her cheeks and flowed over her shoulders and with the hand that wasn’t twisting the stranger’s arm at the elbow, she brushed her hair back, looking down at the body.
“Oh. It’s you.”
Her voice purred slightly and the tall male squirmed into the floor, grunting slightly. At his movements, her knee dug harder and he groaned, turning his head so his cheek pressed against the cold tiles. Sunny grinned, leaning forward, her hair brushing his cheeks and he stilled when he felt her breath brushing his ears. Sunny noticed and she smirked gently. Her lips gently ran over skin and immediately, their positions were reversed, the taller Sungjoon pinning her to the floor. He wasn’t surprised when instead of being alarmed, Sunny just laughed.
“Hello to you too Sungjoon-ah. I heard you got a promotion. What are you, chief now?”
“You give my divison so much trouble you know that?” Sungjoon looked irritated and Sunny just grinned up at him.
“You still manage to find me every time though,” Sunny purred. She was a little startled when the tall male leaned down, his lips curling into his ever-familiar smirk and her heart thudded a bit in her chest.
“I said you give my department trouble. I never said you gave me trouble love,” she laughed softly, even though her gut flipped lightly at how close the taller male was. Sungjoon pressed a kiss to the corner of her lips, smirking gently when he felt her breath hitch and he murmured, “I know you too well Sunny-noona,”
“That you do,” Sunny murmured back. She felt Sungjoon smirk a bit more and she gently moved a hand, touching Sungjoon’s cheek. Her touch obviously startled him, his eyes a touch wider than normal as he looked down at her.
She kissed him.
---
“Boss!”
His men burst into the hall and Sungjoon held up a hand, not facing them, eyes trained on a broken window. There was a mass groan from his men and there was grumbling of disbelief that the Lee Sunny had gotten away again. Sungjoon wasn’t surprised when his best friend since diapers just sidled up to him, brushing her hair back from her face.
“You let her go again Joon-ah?” Bora murmured. Sungjoon hummed. “Don’t let the big boss know. He’ll have you sacked.”
“He won’t sack me. He knows I’m the only one to catch her.” Sungjoon pretended not to see how Bora shook her head at him. Sungjoon just looked at the glass shards on the ground and his lips quirked, still tingling from her kiss.
Next time noona.
Guitar Lessons || Kim Myungsoo/Kang Jiyoung || 486
He was pretty sure it was cute, the way her nose scrunched up in frustration and her hair was pulled up in a messy tail at her neck. Myungsoo hid a smile though, leaning forward a bit on his bed to watch the younger girl glare at the instrument in her lap. It was identical to the one he had next to him on his bed, if not a little smaller. She was leafing through one of his old beginning guitar books. He wondered why she didn’t just ask him.
“Getting it yet Jing?” Myungsoo laughed softly when there was a frustrated cry and she picked up the nearest thing (a pillow) and chucked it at him. He dodged it by ducking, watching as the pillow smacked into the wall before he turned to look back at her. Jiyoung let out a sound again and flopped onto his floor, the instrument still held in her lap and an arm thrown over her eyes.
“No,” was her grumble. Myungsoo grinned and Jiyoung peeked out from her arm. She scowled and pointed a finger accusingly at him, sitting up now. “You’re happy at my misfortune! Yah! Kim Myungsoo!”
“Oppa,” Myungsoo corrected and he just laughed when she stuck her tongue at him. She was too cute sometimes. “It’s not hard, learning to play the guitar.”
“Well it’s frustrating and stupidly hard now,” Jiyoung grumbled. Myungsoo grinned and stood, approaching the girl on the floor, grabbing the guitar off his bed. He gently nudged her and she scooted so he could sit comfortably next to her. Myungsoo gingerly arranged his guitar in his lap, comfortably. He strummed a few chords and Myungsoo blinked when Jiyoung let out a quiet, upset sound.
“What?” and Myungsoo almost stiffened when the younger girl turned her body slightly to lean into his shoulders, the curve of her spine resting against his arm. She gently shifted her guitar and Myungsoo could see her glowering at it from the corner of his eyes. He couldn’t help but smile fondly.
“You make it look so easy Soo-oppa,” Jiyoung grumbled and Myungsoo was quiet for a moment. Then he said gently, “It just takes practice. And you’re just starting anyways.”
Jiyoung just huffed air to show that she heard him and for a few moments, it was quiet. The she gently elbowed him and Myungsoo looked at the girl resting against him.
“Hm?”
“Play something oppa.”
Myungsoo hummed and gently adjusted where she was leaning so he could strum freely. He just strummed and she just listened. They sat like that for a while, Jiyoung just listening and Myungsoo just playing, the gentle lull of his guitar ringing out in his bedroom. After a few minutes (perhaps maybe half an hour), Myungsoo gently placed his hands on the guitar, stilling the vibrating strings and he asked Jiyoung quietly, “Ready to try again? I’ll help this time.”
“Sure.”
Movies and Post Its || Pyo Jihoon/Choi Jinri || 464
It was a bit awkward. Scratch that, it was really awkward; the two of them standing face to face, his hand over hers and her hand resting against the cool metal of his locker, the note crumpling against her sweaty palm. He was amused, eyes shining and his lips quirked into that smirk she both loved and hated while she wasn’t quite glaring, a somewhat embarrassed flush rising to her cheeks.
“Hello Jinri-ya,” Jihoon’s voice was low (like always) and Jinri shivered minutely. His eyes flickered from her adorably flushed face to their linked hands and Jinri flushed darker. Jihoon looked back at her, still smirking. “What brings you to my neck of the woods?”
“Locker,” Jinri squeaked and it only served to make his smirk widen.
“So I’ve noticed,” Jihoon purred. “But isn’t you’re locker in a different hall?”
“How do you know that my locker isn’t in this hall?” Jinri managed and behind her, Jiyeon and Luna nodded vigorously. Inwardly, Jinri wondered how Pyo Jihoon knew that her locker was in a different hall. She showed up in this hall as much as any other hall. Jihoon just chuckled lightly.
“Well, if it really is in this hall, you probably missed it since this is the end of the hall, where my locker is,” Jihoon grinned as Jinri became more flustered and he subtly raised his hand from her just a fraction on the locker.
Immediately, her hand jerked out from beneath his and Jihoon closed his hand fast enough so the sticky note fell into his hand. Jinri looked slightly horrified that her hand was empty. She clutched her hand to her chest, nervous and it didn’t really ease her nerves to hear her friends arguing in the background with his friends. Jihoon leaned down a bit, towering slightly over her and Jinri stiffened.
“Were you leaving love notes for someone’s locker down here Jinri-ya?” he purred and he was rewarded with her face flushing to a deep red. She was saved from answering when Jiyeon suddenly grabbed her arm, hissed, “Run!” and their quartet tore down the hall, ignoring the sudden burst of laughter and Byunghun’s swearing.
As they exited the hall, Jinri was aware that her face was still burning and that Jihoon’s deep laughter sounded amazing.
---
Jinri was surprised to see a light pink sticky note on her locker door half an hour later and Jinri felt her face heat up when she recognized the handwriting as her own and the question of going to the movies. Embarrassed, she tore it off the door and blinked down at it when she noticed the unfamiliar handwriting on it, just under hers.
Call. I’ll pick you up at 7. Tell Park Jiyeon that she kicks hard. Byunghun’s leg bruised.
