Didn't write it Friday because I was EXHAUSTED. x.x We started watching animé at the club again.
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (0 and 1): I'll say this: I don't think there's a more random-yet-enjoyable series on the planet. It's so cute and random, but not like Lucky Star, which scares the daylights outta me. HIGHLY recommended if you haven't seen it yet!
Naruto Shippuuden: I was originally gonna skip this, but GTO had setup problems. I'll say this: I like Orochimaru. Anyone who has a tie to snakes is awesome to me. I want a sword that can turn into a snake (was that an aodaisho?). Sakura seems like a stereotypical "cleric" character who has no purpose other than to support and fall in love with the main character of the series.
Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO): I don't know what I was expecting from this series -perhaps something like Please Teacher or Jigoku Sensei (the latter, sadly, I have yet to see)- but whatever I was expecting, it wasn't a teacher who was formerly part of a motorcycle gang! Such an interesting twist, but the quality seemed...Off...To me. How old is this series, anyways? LOL.
For once, I'm proud to announce that I'm pleased to get an assignment. I'm going to chew Stith Thomas out for writing an inadequate and misleading article about the "universality of the folktale." It's not universal if you're writing only about Western folktales. I hope some smart, fellow folklorist has written a more professional critique about the article I read. I have a number of beefs with it...
On a more random note, I also got a sheet with the full ancient Greek alphabet on it. So..Ah...Don't be surprised if I start suddenly writing in Greek?
