I will not write a summary for this episode (but I'll put down some points, since this is journal is a spoiler), because the episode is pretty self-explanatory. I don't know how you, who is reading this journal, took the episode or what your feelings are. However, as for me, I am sadder than sad, but my emotions are also mixed with anticipation.
Code Geass R2
Turn 19 - Spoilerific Points
-As seen in the preview last week, Lelouch snaps at Rolo, throwing down his locket on the ground
> Lelouch: Why do you have this? (referring to the locket) I was planning on giving this to Nunally...To Nunally! As if you could ever take the place of Nunally! You're a fake! Haven't you noticed yet? I hate you. I absolutely despise you!! I tried to kill you time and time again and all I did was fail!
Rolo: Bro...ther..?
Lelouch: Get out! Never show yourself in front of me! Get out!!
Opinion: I felt really bad for Rolo. Despite his not so seriousness of saving Nunally, this doesn't change the fact that he really, truly loves Lelouch. He loves his brother so much. Although his love is to the point of obsession, it's only a natural reaction, as I have noticed. He's never loved anyone, nor has he ever been truly loved. Lelouch getting angry at Rolo, is also a natural reaction, having lost his sister, now he is "alone". Afterall, everything he has done and dreamed of was for Nunally's sake. Now, everything is lost.
-Schneizel gathers the most important members of the black knights and reveals Zero's true identy: Former prince of Britannia, Lelouch Vi Britannia
Tamaki tried his best to defend Lelouch. Diethard, in his own way, tried to defend Zero. However, then Schneizel pulls out the geass card. He and Ougi claim that Lelouch geassed all of them and Cornelia reveals that Lelouch was the one who geassed Euphemia into killing Japanese. Schneizel requests that the Black Knights turn Zero in. Ougi agrees on their behalf, however on one condition: Japan must be given back to the Japanese...
Opinion: Since I am part of the audience, I have knowledge that the Black Knights do not have. I, along with everyone else, knows that Lelouch did indeed geass Euphemia, but on accident. He cried for his sister. Yes, he lied to the Black Knights, but they would not have followed Zero in the first place if they were told he was a student and had a power from God, would they? That's much more shady then not giving an identity at all. The Black Knights are under the impression that all of them were geassed. The plain truth is, that they were not. They followed Zero on their own terms. Lelouch geassed plenty of people, but for the good of the people. Since the Black Knights have already fallen apart now, this doesn't matter, however. And now, they'll never know the truth, since they never gave it a second thought.
-Kallen tells Zero to go to the fourth warehouse, ordered by Ougi. Kallen does not know of the details and has no idea what is waiting for him there.
At the warehouse, the Black Knights are standing with guns pointed at Zero, reading to shoot. Kallen defends him, saying that this was too one-sided. Lelouch sees Schneizel and makes note that this is his "check" and that he no longer can get out of the situation.
> Kallen: Answer me, Lelouch. What am I to you? If it's with you, I...Hey....please, answer me!
Lelouch: Fools. So you've only realized now? That you were all being manipulated? That you are nothing more than pawns? (removes his mask)
Kallen: Lelouch...
Lelouch: Kallen, among all of them, you were the most useful pawn. Yes, this is all nothing more than a chessboard! This was all a game.
Kallen: I see... Goodbye, Lelouch... (starts to walk away)
Lelouch: Kallen...you must live on.
Opinion: It was now or never that the Black Knights would disband. Although they did not trust Lelouch anymore, Kallen still did, thanks to Lelouch's last words "You must live on". Although we didn't get to hear her thoughts, I think that Kallen believes in Lelouch and will still support him. Or at least, I hope.
-Rolo saves Lelouch and takes off on Shinkirou. He uses his Geass countless times, his heart weakening with every activation. Lelouch tells him to stop, that he's done enough for him. Rolo doesn't listen, desperate to get his brother to safety. Lelouch tells Rolo he has no meaning for living anymore and doesn't want Rolo to die.
> Rolo: I was always someone's tool. I was a tool for the Organization. And after that, I was your tool...Indeede, maybe I was only being used by you, Brother. But those times were real! Thanks to these memories, I could finally.....become human! So now...I'm not...I'm...not...a...tool! Because this is by my own will!
Opinion: I almost cried at this part. The music and everything. Rolo just...he's one awesome kid. And I don't know if I heard correctly, but in the song, after Rolo's monologue, it goes, "You'll always be a part of me..." Yeah, this was just killer.
-Rolo meets his death.
> Lelouch: Rolo, why did you save me?
Rolo: Because, Brother is a liar....
Lelouch: Eh?
Rolo: You lied to me, right..? When you said you tried to kill me....that you...hated me....
Lelouch: I see...You saw right through me. As expected from my little brother.
Rolo: That's right...if it's you, Brother, I know....everything....
Lelouch: Yeah, that's right. Your brother is a liar...
Opinion: Rolo redeemed himself. And so did Lelouch. Rolo's death was predicted by many and I think this was a perfect way. Sunrise, kudos. You made me cry because I didn't want Rolo to die, but more so because this scene was particularly heart-wrenching, next to the monologue. Lelouch realized that he really did love Rolo. He was the one who always stood by his big brother's side, no matter what.
That ends this weeks spoiler. SUNRISE YOU ARE CRAZY. YOU NEED TO STOP WITH THE ANGSTYNESS. DD: I can't believe only 6 episodes left. Huh, when Geass is over and done, what will I scream about on Sundays? DDDDX
Also, I feel that i must note Suzaku's crazy psychopath laughing near the end. I was like, "Woah...." In the preview, he looks pretty...normal, so I don't know what his laughter was all about, but man, it was cool. Sakuraaaaai~ Suzakuuu~
And gosh, the preview was DDX "You were not the brother of Lelouch Vi Britannia, but the brother of Lelouch Lamperouge" T_________________________________T Rolo..... ;;
Lovey Dovey,
