Surprise, a not so political post. Was tempted to post one yesterday, but may wait until I've cooled down a bit.

Otherwise, check this out:

Scientist Agree Global Warming is Real

Oh...wow

So based on the OPINION of the scientist surveyed, we can now deduce that, indeed, Global Warming is real ( Read more... )

Hugs. I believe in it, but I'm leaning towards atheism myself, so god doesn't really come into play when I look at the whys and why-nots.

I can also be convinced that it's not real, it's just I personally don't feel that I've seen any solid proof that we're not causing global warning. I'm still a bitch about electricity in that I tend to have my TV running all the time and shit -_- So, I guess if global warning is real, I'm kinda screwing myself over.

Nevermind the whole God aspect (though I still consider arrogant that man would assume himself a god), and check out this link here:

Scientific Opinions of Man-made Global Warming

As everyone points out in the comments section, there are a LOT of problems with the survey and the theory in general.

First off, it was sent to 10,000 selected individuals (of which barely 3,000 responded...), which shows a lot of potential (and most likely) for bias. As one person says in there, "The "only by invitation" also allows cherry-picking of who gets to participate, which may skew the results (intentionally, I suspect). I expect that those they selected to "invite" were those who they figured would give them the answer they wanted ( ... )

I honestly... haven't paid attention to this story so much, and wasn't so much talking about this article in particular. I admit, I was bored, I skimmed. I also found it rather ridiculous. I do agree that this particular study is rather - really, really actually - sketchy, but there are others that aren't. Basically, this doesn't influence me, or piss me off; it is what it is, and I'm not stupid enough to fall for it ( ... )
