One half of them is already gone :)) I had to bat little hands away several times (right out of the oven they smell heavenly, but they are also extremely hot) and there has been traffic in the kitchen for the whole night after that.
Two-headed cinnamon rolls! I love the shape- I'm going to do this the next time I make rolls. And I love the coarse sugar; I'm not sure sugar that coarse is available in the US, but it's definitely worth looking for.
How do you cut your slices? I use a loop of dental floss, because none of my knives are sharp enough to cut through without slightly flattening the cylinder.
Hey, that's an excellent name for the Finnish variation of cinnamon rolls! Thanks!!
I'm not sure sugar that coarse is available in the US, but it's definitely worth looking for.And that explains why I couldn't find a translation in any of my dictionaries for that word :) It's called "granule sugar" in Finnish and it's used for this purpose only. Ordinary caste sugar tastes the same of course, but it doesn't look as pretty

Cute, cute pulla figures! By your daughters, I mean. Well, your korvapuustis are delicious and pretty. How many time did your wash your hands during the baking/photo session? ;DDD
You know what? The people at finland would appreciate a illustrated guide to muikkukukko making!! Really! I've tried baking it once resulting a severely soiled oven and something that didn't resemble a kukko at all. *bats eyelashes* You said you found muikkus!!! Keep the tradition alive!! It's your responsibility as a Finn!!
Kanelbullar! Delicious! I can't wait until my nail grows back completely to start baking! And I'm glad to read you use butter... a friend gave me the recipe with margarine and I was like "ewwww"! Anyway I can't find cardamom in my town for the life of me, I guess this spice isn't very popular around here!
Yup, kanelbullar :) My mother bakes them (secretly) in water and uses margarine, but I can't really tell the difference. She's sneaky that way. Maybe it's because she does the "butter-eye" versions, so the amount of butter and sugar on top hides the lack of proper ingredients inside...
And hee! You just gave me a perfect opportunity to extort your mailing address from you *g* C'mon, your address in exchange for a package of cardamom :)) I'm still kupukello @ yahoo com ;)
