I've been reading tons of fics lately, so many that I'm starting to mix them. "Oh, why is he saying that? Oh, right, this isn't the fic where he has super powers, this was the one where Lucius was the Minister of Magic" etc. One thing that has been bothering me for a long time are the way some authors describe different ages. There might be a fic where a thirty-year-old Harry and his friends have grey hair and stiff joints and some fics where an eleven-year-old acts and speaks like a six-year-old. I can understand that, it is of course difficult to remember what you did when you were eleven, and when anybody over twenty is as good as dead, a thirty-year-old must then be REALLY old. None of my friends (and sheesh, some of them are almost FORTY!) has gray hair, quite many have bald spots and their foreheads have grown bigger (*snicker*) but that problem was already there when they were twenty. Oh, there is one with grey hair, but he had his first gray hair at the age of sixteen, it's some sort of a pigment disorder, nothing to do with his 27 years :D.
