O Wiily?
As I type this my intrepid roomie is attempting to procure a Wii from a local Target. Upon hearing that a friend got the last one from a Target out in Duluth, I suggested he called a local one and see if any were in stock. Lo and behold, a nearby location did have some. I think this is by far the quickest Ed has ever moved in his entire life. I can only cross my fingers in anticipation and say God Speed Edward.
In other nerdiness, looks like the Goldeneye Source Beta finally got released today. I haven't downloaded as I'm still at work, but when I get home I'll be clickin' those links. For the uninitiated, Goldeneye Source is a remake of the Goldeneye 007 game on Nintendo 64, completely built around the Half-Life 2 Source engine. This equates to the original awesome console FPS coming to PC with pretty pretty graphics. w00t to that!
I love my job... I really do. I finished stamping microfiche about 4 hours ago, and over the course of the past couple work days I've literally stamped thousands of 'em. Now I'm not using literally here in the incorrect but common usage, i.e. "I literally shit my pants!". In most cases when someone says this, they did NOT shit their pants, but by saying literally they remove all doubt that what they just said was a figure of speech. Paradoxical and idiotic? Perhaps. Ahem, tangent aside, literally thousands of these things. So what have I done for the past four hours? Well, my boss isn't here. Actually, I'm the only one from my department that's here and my boss didn't leave me a list of things to do as requested, so I don't know what needs to be done around here. This all just means that I've just been reading the Something Awful forums for the past couple hours and I've been getting paid for it.
I reiterate, and I will even do so ad nauseum, I love my job.
Edit: Ed succeeded, a Wii is procured. Now we just need to find somewhere that has an extra Wiimote and nunchuck in stock.
