So it's Christmas today, and I'm sitting in the house alone. Actually I don't mind it. Ed's family invited me over and Trent invited me to his family's Christmas dinner, which was really nice of them. I have good friends. I just always feel kind of weird in those situations. If it was a girlfriend's family or something, that's not terribly awkward because you know... it's like hanging out with sorta family. Otherwise I just kind of feel like an orphan. Just relaxing in my own place by myself and eating and what not just seems more natural for me right now.
A couple days ago I went to the shooting range with Trent, Ed and Tim. Tim... Tim has guns. Nice, big ass guns. To make that clearer, I'll list.
12 Gauge Shotgun
Colt .45 Single Action Army Revolver
Springfield .45 Magnum Semi-automatic
Smith and Wesson 500
So the shotgun was neat. Kinda made my shoulder a little sore, but neat. The Single Action Army was fun, mainly because it was straight up Revolver Ocelot "I love the smell of cordite during reloading" awesome. I mainly shot the Magnum Semi-automatic, and found out that I'm actually a pretty good shot. Maybe all those years of playing Time Crisis and other gun games at the arcade paid off.
I fired the Smith and Wesson 500 once, and I shall explain the reason for only firing it once through pictures.
This is the Model 500. It has a 4 inch barrel and weighs about 5 pounds. This is from the wikipedia entry on it: "Currently deer, elk, black bear, grizzly bear, kodiak bear, wild boar and African elephant have all been taken with this firearm. No criminal use of the Model 500 has been reported to date."
Here's another picture of it being fired at night:
Yeah... BAD ASS. So it was pretty wicked cool to fire, and also one of the scariest things I've ever done. Evar. I totally felt Vash-like.
